QuickTranslate is a browser extension that allows you to quickly translate text directly on any webpage. With a simple click of a button, you can access a translation interface where you can enter text, select source and target languages, and view translations without leaving the current page.

Installation

QuickTranslate will soon be available on the Chrome Web Store. In the meantime, you can install the extension manually by following these steps:

Google Chrome

  1. Download the Extension:

    • Clone or download the repository to your local machine.
    git clone https://github.com/ola191/quicktranslate.git
  2. Load the Extension in Chrome:

    • Open Google Chrome and navigate to chrome://extensions/.
    • Enable Developer mode by toggling the switch in the top right corner.
    • Click Load unpacked and select the directory where the extension files are located.
  3. Using the Extension:

    • Once loaded, you will see the QuickTranslate button (🌐) in the top right corner of your browser.
    • Click the button to open the translation interface.
    • Enter text in the text area, select the source and target languages, and view the translation.

Microsoft Edge

  1. Download the Extension:

    • Clone or download the repository to your local machine.
    git clone https://github.com/ola191/quicktranslate.git
  2. Load the Extension in Edge:

    • Open Microsoft Edge and navigate to edge://extensions/.
    • Enable Developer mode by toggling the switch in the left sidebar.
    • Click Load unpacked and select the directory where the extension files are located.
  3. Using the Extension:

    • After loading, the QuickTranslate button (🌐) will appear in the top right corner of your browser.
    • Click on the button to access the translation interface.
    • Enter your text, select the desired languages, and see the translated result.

Opera

  1. Download the Extension:

    • Clone or download the repository to your local machine.
    git clone https://github.com/ola191/quicktranslate.git
  2. Load the Extension in Opera:

    • Open Opera and go to opera://extensions/.
    • Enable Developer mode by toggling the switch in the top left corner.
    • Click Load unpacked and choose the directory containing the extension files.
  3. Using the Extension:

    • The QuickTranslate button (🌐) will be added to your browser.
    • Click it to open the translation panel.
    • Enter the text, choose the languages, and view the translation results.
