Hey there :-) thanks for working on this project! Music player has really been the main sore spot for me since migrating to linux a few years ago, so it's good to finally have a good substitute now.

I'm just wondering if there is any way to externalise metadata/tags to a sidecar or database, like the m-tags plugin in foobar? I used to use m-tags when I was on windows, and it really simplified the management of local network sharing and reducing duplication in borg backups.
