Need to simplify long list of task attributes - workspace, project, tags, due date/time, etc to create task.

Options being considered:

Remember last used workspace and project: based on user feedback:

  • Most of users use one workspace more than other.
  • Some projects tend to get re-used repeatedly in same time interval.

Change the order of attributes:

  • Keep the name/description above due date/time, followers, assignee

Hi.
Tx for this fantastic extension.

Some ideas to enhance it:

  1. any progress on above issues?
  2. Use defaults! for project, tag, assigned, followed etc. Or remember last settings for these items.
  3. task box is too small for entering long tasks: make box resizeable, or grow with content (and let it remember its last size),
  4. search: use "AsanaNG" as search string instead of asana for internal asana searches. Otherwise normal google searches searches related to asana will be difficult.
  5. make dropdown window sticky (with pin button). This is handy when you need to copy/paste info from browser or programs into the extension

Thanks!

Hi @peefour,
I was thinking that we should do something about the point 3, too.

Changing the term to "AsanaNG":

Good but I like the current option as well, in that the users of the extension notices this feature by coincidence. I'll leave it to @amitg87's decision.

Workaround I've found so far:

  • When you type " Asana" (a space + Asana), you can bypass the internal omnibox search and search the Web.
  • By pressing Backspace key, you can go out of internal omnibox search and continue web search.
  • Pressing Escape key, which I tried first, doesn't give good result. It just deletes everything in omnibox. I thought it might be an option to overwrite this behavior so that the users just go out of internal omnibox search.
  • @amitg87, what do you think about adding some note on the Search page on the Wiki?
  • Maybe add an enable/disable toggle in the Settings?
