National transposition
In this section you can find measures adopted by the EU Member States to transpose EU acts – mainly directives – into national law. You can search for the titles, and, if available, the texts of the measures, together with information on the dates of notification, national identifiers of the acts and links to the transposed EU act.

To obtain an overview of all the national transposition measures adopted for a specific directive by EU Member States, go to the page of the directive and then click “national transposition” in the left-hand menu.

Directives are EU legal acts which set binding objectives to be achieved by the EU Member States to which they are addressed (Article 288 of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union).
Member States can choose the form and methods for transposing directives into national law. However, they are bound by the terms of the directive as to the result to be achieved and the deadline by which the transposition should take place. National authorities must notify the European Commission of the measures they have adopted. The European Commission verifies the completeness and correctness of transposition of EU law into national law.
EUR-Lex publishes information on national transposition measures (title, date of publication, transposed directive/s, etc.). National authorities can also express their willingness to make the text of national measures available on EUR-Lex. The Member States are solely responsible for all information they provide on transposition of EU law into national law present in this section.
