'AirPods Pro' Can Skip Songs on iPhone, But Not iTunes on Windows 11 Laptop

I recently purchased the AirPods Pro (2nd Gen) for use when I'm working out at home (treadmill, etc). I linked the AirPods to my iTunes library on my [fairly new] Windows 11 laptop, and they seem to work fine.

While listening to iTunes playlists on my laptop, the AirPods allow me to raise & lower volume, and pause & resume songs. However, they do not allow me to SKIP songs. (P.S. My iTunes is the latest version.)

I have playlists on my iPhone too and the AirPods' double-squeeze SKIP feature works when listening to music from iPhone, so apparently the issue is only when using playlists on my Windows laptop.

Anyone else notice this, or heard of this problem?

It can be that this kind of specific features will only work on apple devices and not on windows i am afraid

That's the conclusion I've arrived at as well. Just tried the wife's 1st Gen AirPods (with tap feature) with my laptop and had the same result; will only pause & resume songs on iTunes (no song skipping). They will skip songs on my iPhone.

Not a big deal, but hope Apple develops a fix for this issue with future AirPods.
