Despite our best efforts to ensure accessibility of the European Committee of the Regions’ website, we are aware of some limitations, which we are working to fix. Below is a description of known limitations. Please contact us if you encounter an issue not listed below. Known limitations for the European Committee of the Regions’ website:

  • Not all informative images have descriptive alternative text which conveys the meaning and context of a visual item in a digital setting. Additionally, not all decorative icons are implemented in a way that can be ignored by assistive technology. 
  • Not all headings are logically and hierarchically ordered and marked as titles.
  • The content is not always ordered in a way that it reflects the meaning of the content. 
  • The contrast ratio between the text colour and background colour isn't always sufficient.
  • Not all pages are structured with appropriate headings.
  • More than one way is not always available to locate a page within a set of pages. 
  • Elements focused by assistive technologies are not always clearly indicated. 
  • Not all elements remain visible upon focus. 
  • Iframes do not have a proper name to identify the element. 
  • Embedded content like iframes do not have alternative accessible versions.
