- [Instructor] The shape tools in Photoshop are for drawing geometric shapes and preset graphics in an image. They're great for making stickers, for adding to images for social media and lots more design projects. Shapes in Photoshop are vector objects by default. In other words, the edges of the shapes are made up of lines and points rather than pixels and that makes the edges of Photoshop shapes look smooth and it ensures that if you need to scale them up, they will still look just as good as they did when they were smaller. Go to the toolbar and select the rectangle tool or whichever tool is showing in your toolbar at the moment in this tool slot. Take a look at all the different geometric shaped tools that there are. A tool for drawing rectangles or shapes, one for drawing circles or ovals and more.
