Mastering a rock track
- [Instructor] In this video, I'm going to show you some of the techniques that I'm using to master this rock track. It's, again, the track we've been working with throughout this course and I'm just going to play the track. Maybe let's go right in from the middle here, and then I will explain some of the reasons I added certain modules or made certain decisions. So let's just hit spacebar to play right from here. (rock music) So one of the first things I've done for this track is I've gone ahead and I've added an EQ, and remember the EQ we can put into mid side modes. So I've gone ahead and done that with this EQ and I've brought up some of the elements here in the high, mid, and the center and made a few small cuts here, but then on the sides, I've gone ahead and boosted some of this high end here right in Band 7 with a high shelf just 'cuz I really like some of the things that are going on with the shimmer of the cymbals and things happening on the high end and also the vocals.
