Our client, a multi-disciplinary engineering and construction services, is currently searching for an electrical engineer with heavy industrial experience for their office in Detroit, MI.
Role And Responsibilities
Designing Medium Voltage and Low Voltage power distribution systems for heavy industrial plants (Iron and Steel, Mining, and Chemical Processing)
Design and develop electrical power, instrumentation and control system plans, drawing packages, and specifications for assigned projects
Design electrical layout drawings, power single line drawings, conduit/cable tray routing drawings, lighting drawings, grounding drawings, panel drawings, installation drawings, etc. as required for assigned projects
Perform electrical calculations like voltage drop, cable sizing & raceway sizing
Development, completion and/or checking of critical design calculations, systems, and equipment specifications
Development of engineering design documents, reports, and drawings in accordance with industry codes/standards
Ensure compliance with NEC code, electrical industrial design standards, and equipment design standards
Represent the electrical engineering team in client meetings, supplier meetings, and design review meetings
Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering.
Four or more years of professional experience in Electrical Engineering with an understanding of Instrumentation and Controls.
Four or more years of experience with heavy industrial installation projects involving designing power distribution systems (480V to 69KV), MV switchgear, LV switchgear, and motor control centers.
Experience with low voltage power distribution, instrumentation and controls, communications, and standby power systems.
Experience in performing electrical power studies such as load flow, short circuit, device co-ordination, and arc flash etc.
