Description

The primary responsibility of this role is to own scientific engagement strategy, implementation, and long-term success of Myomo's research goal. This individual will play a crucial role in developing the company's strategic research plan such as undertaking prospective studies, IITs, and literature reviews. This also includes submitting abstracts and posters for acceptance at related Congresses as well as developing 1-2 manuscripts per year in the appropriate journals.

The Director of Clinical Research will analyze clinical data, generate insights, and disseminate findings through high-impact publications and presentations. This individual will report to the Chief Medical Officer and will collaborate with internal teams and external partners to elevate the scientific profile of our company.

Responsibilities

  • Write, review, and submit manuscripts, abstracts, and presentations in order to disseminate research findings to the scientific community.
  • Serve as an expert resource on clinical research processes, assisting with designing study-specific workflows while exhibiting sound problem-solving skills.
  • Lead the development and execution of the company's publication and presentation strategy; crafting content, delivering impactful presentations, and representing the company at industry conferences.
  • Responsible for writing and submitting grants on behalf of the company.
  • Provide daily leadership and guidance to the expanding Clinical Research department.
  • Oversee the collection of outcomes data from patients wearing the MyoPro, both internally and also from Myomo's provisioning and external COEs.
  • Responsible for growing and maintaining healthy scientific partnerships domestically and internationally with external researchers, key opinion leaders through collaborative research and applied science.
  • Coordinate regularly with customer-facing teams to ensure compliant exchange of information and coordination where appropriate.
  • Establish goals for new trials and projects (investigator-initiated trials).
  • Monitor data collection, identifying emerging trends to evaluate effectiveness of the MyoPro.
  • Responsible for communicating research projects and outcomes to the leadership team.
  • Foster cross-functional collaboration with marketing, clinical, product development and market access teams to enhance clinical outcomes.
  • Attend and represent the company at relevant scientific conferences and other meetings as required.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Physical Therapy or Occupational Therapy or similar; PhD preferred.
  • Experience in monitoring or directing clinical research in neurological rehabilitation.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of relevant experience in a clinical research environment.
  • Strong knowledge of research methodologies and data interpretation.
  • Knowledge of grants and programs administration policies and practices.
  • Experience in collaborating with scientific partners.
  • Strong project management skills and outcomes oriented, and results driven approach.
  • Well-organized and detail-oriented with strong written and verbal communication skills, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • High quality, clear writing with the ability to summarize large volumes of data into streamlined reports which are understandable to non-technical audiences.
  • Experience working in a high-growth and entrepreneurial environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Microsoft Project, Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent presentation and podium skills used at team meetings and conferences.
