Vision for This Position: The Director of Admissions is responsible for planning, coordinating, communicating and evaluating all aspects of recruitment and retention for Brightspire Virtual School. The virtual school program offers families an accredited schooling experience for students in grades 6-12, that is engaging, flexible, and rigorous, supporting students for full and part time learning and as a supplement to homeschool education. This role directs the enrollment strategy, leveraging cross-functional resources to achieve enrollment and growth goals. The Director of Admissions reports to the President of Time4Learning and collaborates deeply with the SVP, Revenue/Growth Marketing, VP, Finance, and VP, Operations to enact the growth strategy. This role leads a small team of Enrollment Specialists.

Job Responsibilities

Student Recruitment and Retention Strategy

  • Establish a multi-year lead generation, recruitment, and retention strategy that aligns with virtual school and company growth goals.
  • Responsible for developing and executing comprehensive outreach strategies to meet or exceed enrollment goals.
  • Collaborate with BVS and T4L staff to create program-specific strategies that entice students and families and meet the needs of the market.
  • Reimagine pipeline management to accurately forecast and drive enrollment and retention on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
  • Develop annual plans and budget to drive enrollment and retention.

Consultative Selling

  • Establish vision and approach for creating value and trust with prospective families and students.
  • Create presentations and train staff on how to deliver them to prospective families to promote new enrollment and re-enrollment.
  • Audit program services to understand how teachers and mentors interact with and support students, to be able to communicate program benefits to families.

Communication, Outreach, and Impact

  • Collaborate with the Student Life Director to foster relationships with families and ensure they have meaningful connections with program staff, teachers, and other students.
  • Collaborate with the Revenue/Growth Marketing team and Student Life Director to imagine and produce communications to families and students that promote BVS and encourage engagement.
  • Cultivate relationships with key stakeholders, including prospective families, internal staff, feeder programs/networks, and community partners.
  • Develop, track, and report metrics and KPIs around lead generation, recruitment, and retention, in coordination with VP, Operations
  • Establish and maintain admissions database for tracking enrollment and retention behaviors over time.

Marketing and Advertising

  • Develop a comprehensive plan to promote Brightspire Virtual School to prospective students through private school, virtual school, and community-based organizations
  • Collaborate with the Revenue/Growth Marketing team to develop compelling campaigns that drive enrollment.
  • Conduct market and program research to gain insights into competitors and parent psychographics to inform enrollment and retention strategies.

Operations and Regulations

  • Ensure rules and regulations for enrolling students in an accredited private school are compliant with all applicable laws and regulations.
  • Keep policies for staff, parents, and students up-to-date.
  • Collaborate with VP, Operations to implement continuous improvement processes for enrollment operations.

Job Requirements

  • BA/BS degree required; MBA, Masters degree appreciated
  • Minimum of 3-5 years in a people leadership role within a virtual/online school environment
  • Previous experience successfully leading and/or enacting consultative selling strategies to achieve enrollment goals
  • Preference will be given to candidates with previous experience directing or managing admissions
  • Ability to analyze data to understand lead generation, recruitment, enrollment, and retention outcomes to effectively grow student enrollment
  • Proven ability to develop relationships, inspire staff and partners, and be an empathetic listener
  • Comfortable using a variety of technologies for productivity, communication, design, and development tasks
  • Excellent organizational, presentation and communication skills
  • A passion for making a difference in the educational outcomes of students and being part of a learning community
