Role Description

As our Technical Program Manager, Operations, Nevada, you will work on cross-product and cross-team initiatives, partnering closely with a variety of teams to plan, deploy, and deliver projects and new technologies to local markets and surrounding communities. In this role, you will manage the day-to-day operations, milestone tracking, and completion of projects related to the construction of our outside plant (OSP) fiber to the home (FTTH) network as well as the eventual build out of the in-market team. As an initial hire in one of our developing markets, you will be responsible for the hands-on development of processes for everything that happens downstream of Engineering/permitting such as pre-construction planning, construction execution/sequencing, splicing/testing for project turnover and acceptance to downstream stakeholders.

In this role, you'll:

  • Take a hands-on approach to developing project budgets, scheduling, resource/activity planning, activity sequencing and prioritization, vendor performance tracking, project dependency awareness, financial reporting, invoice approval, and material management.
  • Manage, develop, and maintain vendor construction schedules with the project team ensuring project milestones and delivery dates are aligned with business commitments.
  • Communicate progress effectively and work with internal/external stakeholders to ensure that projects are scoped properly and handed off seamlessly for network acceptance.
  • Foster an open, transparent, and cross-discipline change management process when deviations are necessary during execution.
  • Ensure projects are built according to approved engineered design plans and GFiber Standards in adherence to current contracts, SOW’s, and municipal requirements.

At a minimum we'd like you to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 7 years of experience in Program/Project Management within large, capital intensive and technical scopes of work.
  • 5 years vendor management experience directly managing vendor resources, performance management, and accountability for project-based deliveries.
  • 5 years of experience as a people manager.
  • Experience scheduling projects, capital tracking/forecasting, reporting project status and costs versus commitments, and providing insights/ influence to commercial terms with contractors and vendors.

It's preferred if you have:

  • PMP, PgMP or other project management certification.
  • 10 years Project/Program Management experience.
  • 7 years in a Vendor Management role.
  • Experience analytical and solutions-oriented roles with an emphasis on financial and operational performance.
  • Experience managing telecommunication infrastructure, Fiber to the Home/Plant (FTTx) operations, and/or outside plant (OSP) projects.
  • Experience building and leading a team in a new market.
  • Experience with Sitetracker, CAD, GIS systems, and/or FTTH records/As-builts.
  • Experience resolving disputes and balancing multiple competing priorities to meet deadlines.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $154,000 - $169,000 + bonus + cash award + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
