We are currently seeking an Entry Level Electrical Design Engineer to join our team and contribute to the design of electrical systems for ships. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of a BSEE degree, proficiency in AutoCAD, and a solid understanding of electrical systems. This role involves designing drawing developments, performing shipboard surveys, and collaborating with customers and vendors to ensure effective electrical solutions for maritime applications.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop design drawings, material/parts specifications, engineering calculations, engineering reports, and feasibility studies for electrical systems on ships.
Perform shipboard surveys to assess and gather necessary information for electrical design projects.
Design power and lighting systems for ships, ensuring compliance with safety standards and specifications.
Interface with customers and vendors to understand project requirements, provide technical support, and address any inquiries.
Utilize AutoCAD for designing and drafting electrical systems.
Contribute to the analysis of electrical loads and fault currents, with preference for experience using SKM software.
Demonstrate a working knowledge of Grounded/Ungrounded Electrical Systems, Power Distribution, and Lighting Systems.
Qualifications:
Minimum BSEE degree.
Proficiency in AutoCAD and the Microsoft Office suite.
Thorough knowledge of electrical systems.
Ability to travel up to 20%.
Must be a US citizen.
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of Grounded/Ungrounded Electrical Systems, Power Distribution, and Lighting Systems.
Understanding of electrical load analysis and fault current analysis, with experience in SKM software considered a plus.
Pay Rate:
$25/hr. - $30/hr.
Shift and Hours:
Monday to Friday.
8 a.m. 5 p.m.
