Job Description

Omnicell’s goal is to transform the pharmacy delivery model by continuing to build a fully autonomous pharmacy. The autonomous pharmacy will combine automation, insights and service to deliver demonstrable outcomes to customers. The Data Analytics and ML Manager is a key member of Omnicell’s Market Strategy team. As the go-to data expert and owner of internal Omnicell market, product and sales data, as well as third-party industry databases, such as Definitive Healthcare, this team member is critical to executing our goals.

To be successful, the Analytics and ML Manager is expected to an expert at extracting market, customer and product level data and insights from various sources and performing rigorous analyses against those data to inform market intelligence programs and product reporting across the portfolio. This role must not only understand Omnicell’s full market and product line (current portfolio plus track how the portfolio evolves) but must also understand how those markets products interrelate and tie back to customer and business data. The position will work across the entire Market Strategy and Product Management organization with a team that truly values and appreciates data-driven decision making.

Reporting to the Sr. Manager, Market Insights, the Analytics and ML Manager will be responsible for:

  • Owning the relationship with third-party data vendors
  • Maintaining the integrity of derived market, customer and product level data as the go-to expert on internal & external data sources
  • Becoming an expert in Omnicell markets, products and account attribution models, knowing how to navigate through complexities and limitations of pooling necessary data from different sources
  • Understanding the business need for any given project and then defining the data analytics approach, including how to leverage our various data sources
  • Forming & validating the right questions in order to extract insights and meaning from the data.
  • Collaborating with Market Strategy and Product Management to build market models for our product lines to arrive at total addressable markets (TAM), serviceable addressable markets (SAM) and account penetration analyses that tracks our market share and that of competition across product segments
  • Supporting AI and ML solutions leveraging AI platforms such as Google or Microsoft Gen AI Cloud technologies
  • Applying data aggregation, descriptive analysis and data visualization techniques and tools to communicate findings and recommendations
  • Supporting Market Strategy and Product Management efforts as directed


Required Knowledge & Skills:

  • Self-starting individual capable of driving to project completion
  • Ability to multi-task across projects simultaneously
  • Maturity to handle ambiguity and ability to adapt to a dynamic environment while working with a diverse set of stakeholders
  • Ability to ask the right questions and form hypotheses to support data-driven decisions
  • Ability to translate technical data analyses into compelling, actionable business insights and recommendations
  • Experience with data manipulation and visualization packages such as Tableau, Alteryx, Power BI
  • Experience with text mining ML/AI Solutions
  • Exceptional analytical skills
  • Exceptional communication skills


Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (in marketing, business, economics, or data sciences) desirable
  • 5 years of previous data analytics, text mining and modeling experience
  • Proficient in Tableau and Alteryx
  • Proficient in Salesforce.com reporting
  • Proficient in text mining using ML/AI Solutions
  • Proficient in Excel including pivot tables and understanding data joins


Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA or master’s level degree preferred
  • Data analytics, text mining and data modeling experience in healthcare, especially in the hospital or pharmacy space
  • Proficient in Definitive Healthcare data sets and sources
  • Proficient in PowerPoint


Work Conditions:

  • This position is Austin, TX, Dallas-Fort Worth, TX or Pittsburgh, PA office based.
  • This position requires up to 15% US based travel
