In the Memory Care Manager role, you’ll work closely with families, service providers, and staff to meet the unique needs of our residents by delivering consistent, high-quality, and personalized care based on the Best Friends Approach to Alzheimer’s care. You’ll lead the creation of a warm, safe environment you’d want for your own loved ones.

Key Responsibilities

  • Recruit, train, and supervise team members in collaboration with the Executive Director. Conduct timely performance reviews to encourage growth.
  • Inspire, guide, and empower your team through effective communication, ongoing training, and recognition programs that foster development.
  • Address concerns and grievances professionally, handling disciplinary actions or dismissals as needed, with the support of the Director.
  • Manage department operations within the annual budget, ensuring resources are used effectively.
  • Collaborate with families, service providers, and staff to ensure residents receive exceptional, customized care, maintaining the highest standards of dignity and security.
  • Oversee resident safety and emergency response protocols, developing tailored programs such as fall prevention and exercise plans.
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date documentation in line with regulatory requirements.
  • Guide residents and families on health care decisions, service changes, and alternative care options when needed.
  • Participate in all memory care resident-related meetings, ensuring clear communication and consistent care.
  • Take an active role in marketing and outreach efforts, working closely with the Director on public relations and sales activities related to memory care.
  • Ensure the neighborhood is always clean, organized, and welcoming for residents and guests.
  • Engage with employees, residents, families, and the broader community in events and activities that promote a vibrant and positive environment.

Qualifications & Skills

  • A degree in Geriatrics, Elder Care, or a related field, with experience in senior housing, elder care, or a similar industry preferred.
  • At least 2 years of leadership experience in a supervisory role, with strong leadership and team-building abilities.
  • Familiarity with facility licensure regulations, OSHA standards, safety procedures, employment laws, and food service regulations.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with a high level of integrity.
  • Proficient with computers and social media for networking and community engagement.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with a passion for creating a warm, welcoming environment for residents and staff alike.
  • Flexibility to work weekends, and evenings, and cover other departments as needed.
  • Fluent English communication skills are essential.
