I am seeking our newest Director of Operations to manage all aspects of our multi-site food grade/ temperature controlled distribution centers. The main facility location is Delanco NJ.


The Director of Operations will provide overall direction and oversight in the areas of food quality standards, safety, operational excellence, top tier performance, P&L management, customer relations, continuous improvement and development of new leaders, managers and associates.

Responsibilities:

  • Direct the general leadership (GM's)
  • Lead multiple facilities and ensure safety, food grade standards / production, storage and distribution.
  • Evaluate overall operations and develop short- and long-term goals to meet or exceed our customers and organizational objectives.
  • Oversee all warehousing, distribution, packaging and transportation operations to ensure company and customer requirements are met, food quality standards are met, while ensuring employee health and safety.
  • Focus on continuous improvement and make decisions about enhancing safety, value, service and effectiveness of the operation, with/and profitability.
  • Direct and oversee programs to ensure safety of all associates, equipment and property.
  • Ensure compliance with all; company, customer and government/regulatory agency requirements.
  • Collaborate with Sales, GMs, the customer and company stakeholders.


Requirements:

  • Bachelors' Degree in Logistics, Industrial Engineering, or a related operations discipline preferred.
  • Experience with the fiscal components (budgeting, inventory, cost controls, etc.)
  • Proven track record leading multiple facilities (this is a Director Level, role.)
  • Must be OSHA certified and have expertise with regulatory requirements.
  • Experience in Lean / Six Sigma. Certification preferred.
  • AIB certification.
  • Willingness to Travel 25%
  • Strong customer service experience.
  • 10 years Operational Leadership experience in a high volume, fast paced food grade 3PL warehousing, distribution and transportation environment.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of large temperature controlled warehousing operations. including packaging and experience in consumer packaged goods (CPG) distribution.
  • Experience working for a leading provider of temperature controlled warehousing- a 3PL Contract Logistics' provider.
  • Top Level Organizational and Continuous Improvement Skills
  • Flexibility and willingness to support systems 24/7 if needed.
  • Effective Verbal and Written Communication Skills
  • Strong Problem-Solving Skills.
  • A broad range of leadership skills are required with particular emphasis on operational leadership, safety, supervision, motivation, communication, and planning.
  • Must be able to give and receive innovative, creative and helpful feedback to the team members for growth, productivity and profitability.
  • Experience with performance management systems, progressive discipline and safety reporting is required.
