Role Summary

As a QA Manager at Saks, you will be responsible for overseeing testing within a specific team and/or initiative while actively contributing as a hands-on expert. You will design and develop effective test plans and strategies, drive test execution and collaborate with cross-functional teams. You will be working in a fast-paced and dynamic development environment. You will provide guidance, mentor and train team members as well as manage consultants to ensure delivery of quality products.

As part of the ongoing evolution and improvement of our technology, we are incorporating cloud-native services (AWS and Azure) and Salesforce products into our system landscape. This allows rapid innovation in our ecommerce experiences by reducing dependence on legacy systems and enabling ambitious projects in personalization, marketplace offerings, loyalty programs, innovations in security, payment, and fulfillment, as well as general investment in technical excellence. We continue to experiment with and are open to fresh ideas about how to work and grow together.

Key Qualifications

  • Minimum 4 years of cumulative software testing experience with web based and client-server applications
  • Minimum 2 years of experience leading test initiatives
  • Possess knowledge of different software development methodologies (ex: Agile, Waterfall) and QA best practices
  • Must have strong analytical, problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
  • Proactive communicator regarding project progress with your peers and managers -- notifying them of an issue sooner rather than later
  • Possess hands-on experience with test management and defect management tools
  • Flexible with working off-business hours as needed
  • Able to work on multiple projects concurrently, assessing and shifting priorities quickly
  • Must be a great communicator with a strong eye for detail, and a passion for quality software
  • Able to take on additional tasks and responsibilities in order to accomplish team, department, and company goals

Recommended Qualifications

  • Test scripting experience and/or some programming experience
  • Working knowledge of defect and test management tools
  • Web services, cloud based and API testing experience
  • Experience with API Automation and Automation expectation
  • Knowledge of basic Unix commands
  • Experience with relational and document-oriented databases, knowledge of Basic SQL
  • Experience with Continuous Integration build/deploy technologies and tools (ex: Jenkins, GO)
  • Interest in AI Testing approaches
  • Background in business analysis
  • Experience with E-Commerce and retail

Role Description

  • Responsible for developing a comprehensive test plan, test strategy and test effort estimation.
  • Develops and executes test cases and/or test scripts based on business requirements, functional and technical requirements, user stories and business use cases.
  • Integrating test automation into overall testing strategy wherever required
  • Defect tracking
  • Coordinating with and mentoring other team members
  • Providing test status reports to project team, stakeholders, and managers.
  • Provide support for scheduled deployments/releases (which may require off-hour support).
  • Work hand-in-hand with cross-functional and Offshore/Onshore teams to align testing goals and expectations.
