Job Summary

The Vice President of Sales and Business Development will be a key member of the executive team, reporting directly to the CEO/General Manager. This role is critical in driving the company’s growth by securing purchase orders from large solar developers for solar panels ranging from 10MWp to 1GWp+. The successful candidate will lead the sales and business development efforts, developing strategies, and fostering strong relationships with key stakeholders.


Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field. MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred.


Experience:

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in sales and business development, with a proven track record in the solar or renewable energy industry.
  • Demonstrated success in securing large purchase orders and managing high-value customer accounts.
  • Experience leading and developing high-performing sales teams.


Skills:

  • Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with customers, partners, and internal teams.
  • Proficiency in CRM software and sales analytics tools.
  • Deep understanding of the solar industry, market dynamics, and regulatory environment.

Key Responsibilities

Marketing Strategic Planning:

  • Build and keep updated a deep knowledge of the PV Industry and its trends (Supply Chain, Products, Technologies, Standards, Applications, Customers, Competitors, Regulations, Custom Duties and Practices, Prices, Incentives) by following online Magazines and Reports, and attending to trade shows. 
  • Design and implement an efficient communication strategy to reach the customers with information on Danke Solar products, services and value proposition (Web Site, Auctions, Mass Mailing, Calls, Teleconferences, Catalogs, Brochures, Attending Shows and Events) 
  • Develop and implement comprehensive sales and business development strategies and plan to achieve company revenue targets.


Sales LeadershipOrganization and Management:

  • Organize and manage the new customer acquisition process including Technical Product Presentation, Product Qualification, Non-Disclosure/Non-Circumvention Agreement, Volumes, Prices, Terms and Conditions, Sales Agreement and any other as needed. 
  • Facilitate the technical exchanges between the customer and our Engineering Department  
  • Organize and manage the sales process from LEAD to ORDER, keeping a database of Customers, Contacts, Leads, Follow-Up using IT tools and applications 
  • Document any interaction with the Customer by registering on the Company Intranet Chats, Transcripts and others 
  • Establish and monitor sales performance metrics, ensuring accountability and high performance.
  • Foster a culture of high performance, continuous improvement, and customer-centricity.


Business Development:

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities with large-scale commercial and utility solar developers.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key customers, partners, and industry stakeholders.
  • Negotiate and close high-value contracts, ensuring favorable terms and conditions for Danke Solar.


Market Expansion / Business Growth:

  • Expand Danke Solar’s market presence by identifying and entering new geographic and vertical markets.
  • Collaborate with the executive team to develop targeted campaigns and promotional activities.
  • Represent Danke Solar at industry events, trade shows, and conferences.


Customer Engagement:

  • Understand customer requirements and provide tailored solutions to meet their needs.
  • Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction by addressing concerns and resolving issues promptly.
  • Gather and analyze customer feedback to drive product and service improvements.


Reporting and Analysis:

  • Prepare regular sales forecasts, reports, and presentations for the executive team and board of directors.
  • Utilize CRM and other sales tools to track and report on sales activities, pipeline status, and performance.
  • Conduct thorough analysis of sales data to inform decision-making and strategy adjustments.
