Melinda Maria is looking for a creative, self-motivated Head of Social Media to drive our overall social and storytelling strategies! Our ideal candidate: 

  • Experience working with a Brand and has a proven track record of deep comprehension of Brand's vision, core values, and tone/voice so that the execution of content is cohesive with Brand's identity and vision
  • Obsessed with innovative content ideas that will amplify our overall marketing calendar, making our organic social channels the place where our brand and product storytelling can come alive
  • Has a very deep understanding of the power of organic social media for brand storytelling and outward expression of brand tone and lifestyle, rather than being focused solely on likes and comments
  • A data-driven, collaborative leader that is excited to run the organic social department for a rapidly growing fashion brand and share the learnings with cross functional partners in organic and paid channels
  • A self-starter that has experience working independently on organic social channels but has the ability to work with cross-functional teams to execute on bigger projects on or before deadlines
  • Detail-oriented, with the ability to comprehend and execute on multiple content initiatives across all organic social channels.  Must have experience using some form of content and project calendar management  
  • Ability to comprehend overall strategic plan outlined by Executive Team and/or Paid Social team
  • Sees the value of our internal Ambassador network and leverages both the content and the ambassadors themselves to provide another layer of content on organic social channels
  • Experience in providing reporting for all organic social channels along with analysis and actionable insights that can be taken into future actions
  • Ability to self-produce simple content and be able to work alongside creative team on bigger, more complex content projects
  • Ability to take longer form content and have a vision for how to create smaller edits to use in short form content areas, thus ensuring the same visuals and stories are told across platforms in the proper formats for engagement, awareness, and/or recognition


Responsibilities include: 

  • Craft and execute on creative social campaigns across social channels that align with brand’s values, initiatives, and promotions.  Use organic social channels as primary means for creative visual storytelling
  • Create, manage, and execute social media calendar for all channels 
  • Generate and understand reporting and optimization recommendations based upon relevant KPIs to optimize social media content
  • Collaborate with the creative, social, and marketing teams to develop engaging content, both short and long form, that resonates with our core audience and reflects the brand’s initiatives in present time
  • Strategically post content for platforms Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Pinterest, and YouTube
  • Leverage our brand events and ambassadors to amplify the brand awareness and marketing objectives
  • On an ongoing basis and in organized way, compile new content ideas for future consideration
  • Be an active listener on all social channels and create a great feedback loop to other cross functional partners so all key decision makers have a keen understanding of what our community response is at any given time


Requirements

  • 5+ years leading Social Media for a D2C Brand
  • Experience in the full social content production lifecycle (ideation, storyboarding, design, photography, etc.)
  • Proficiency with a range of Adobe Creative Products (ex. Photoshop, Premiere)
  • Expert in in-app editorial design and effects
  • Understanding of design, composition, and typography
  • Experience using some form of content and project calendar management a MUST
  • Concise, compelling communication skills, with the ability to identify insights and build a narrative around those insights
  • A passion for social culture and the evolving digital/social media environment
  • Exceptional time & project management skills with the ability to manage deliverables across an array of brands
  • Strong eye for detail, ensuring the quality and accuracy of all materials that leave the agency
  • Experience with professional camera, lighting, shooting, and retouching a big plus 
  • Must be local to Los Angeles
  • Must be comfortable working on-site
