Position Overview:


Astria Therapeutics is dedicated to bringing hope with life-changing therapies to patients and families affected by allergic and immunological diseases. Astria’s pipeline includes our lead program, STAR-0215, a monoclonal antibody inhibitor of plasma kallikrein in clinical development for the treatment of hereditary angioedema, as well as STAR-0310, an OX40 monoclonal antibody antagonist currently in pre-clinical development for atopic dermatitis (AD) and being explored for other allergic and immunological diseases.


Astria is seeking an experienced corporate strategy leader to join our team. This individual will play a crucial role in the future growth and strategy of the organization. Responsibilities include leading the annual corporate strategy and planning process alongside the executive team as well as identifying, researching, and assessing market trends, strategies, and industry dynamics and communicating the findings. The ideal candidate will be a proactive leader ready to shape, lead, and execute the corporate strategy in a patient-centric and collaborative environment.


Responsibilities:


Strategy development, analysis, and communication

  • Lead the annual corporate strategy and planning process alongside the executive team with cross-functional collaboration and company-wide input.
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of biotech trends, market dynamics, allergy and immunology and antibody developments, and the policy and regulatory landscape to identify opportunities for growth and differentiation. Prepare briefing materials and communicate the findings.
  • Collaborate closely with the executive team and cross-functional leaders to shape, lead, and execute the company's corporate strategy.
  • Explore, evaluate, and recommend strategies and tactics to support Astria’s corporate priorities.
  • Design, create, and prepare corporate strategy presentation materials for executive management, Board meetings, and the company. Communicate complex ideas using clear frameworks to engage all audiences.
  • Monitor industry developments and scientific breakthroughs to adapt strategies as needed.


Strategic planning, execution, and implementation

  • Successfully translate vision and strategy into actionable initiatives with identified resources and timelines, ensuring alignment with corporate goals and milestones.
  • Lead and oversee strategic projects and cross-functional initiatives within the organization. Develop project plans, timelines, and milestones, and coordinate with stakeholders to drive progress and achieve objectives. Monitor project status, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies as needed.
  • Foster a culture of patients first, collaboration, innovation, and scientific excellence, championing initiatives that advance the company's success in allergy and immunology.


Qualifications:


  • Undergraduate/graduate degree in STEM or finance, PhD or MBA preferred
  • Strong familiarity with the pharmaceutical/biotech industry and drug development landscape. Experience in biopharma management consulting and startup biotech highly preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in biotech and/or pharmaceutical company environment
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Capable of communicating complex ideas in simple frameworks and developing compelling presentations
  • Curious, highly organized, proactive, strategic, superior analytical skills, and a critical thinker
  • Results and action-orientation
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Proven track record of building and developing strategy and executing complex projects
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Results-driven, high-performer with a highly collaborative style; able to influence and build consensus across all levels of the organization
