Corporate Controller - VC backed SaaS Startup

We are looking for a Controller to establish our Accounting team and lay the foundation for our next

phase of growth. The Controller role is a significant expansion of the predecessor role, charged with

creating & implementing new processes, systems and mindset to enable scaling up as we expand

into new geographies and get into hyper-growth phase. This is a formative and exciting time as we

continue to evolve as a strong and maturing growth company that demands increased visibility,

controls and accountability. This is a very hands-on and impactful role, where your technical

expertise and business acumen will complement and enhance a seasoned team of professionals.

Our ideal candidate will lead all aspects of Accounting, Taxes, Treasury, Insurance and Finance

Operations (AP, AR, payrolls etc.). You will partner with various teams to develop, implement,

maintain, and continually improve the accuracy and timeliness of our financial reporting and our

compliance with accounting standards and tax obligations.

Responsibilities

• Monthly/Quarterly Financial Close process and ongoing operations
• Revenue Recognition policy enhancements and oversight
• Implementation of ASC 606
• Financial controls (“SOX-lite”)
• Manage annual audit and ongoing relationship with audit firm
• Implement new software tools to increase the scalability and efficiency of the Finance

• Manage foreign entity accounting relationships
• Lead or assist in due diligence reviews
• SaaS / Software sales compensation
• Coach/Mentor accounting personnel
• Manage Tax strategy and tax compliance
• Manage annual tax return preparation and manage ongoing relationship with tax preparation

Requirements

• Comprehensive & well-rounded technical GAAP accounting skills
• Experience that encompasses both large, public companies and smaller growth companies

Education/Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field plus active CPA
• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience including minimum 2 years software industry
  
  

(SaaS a plus)

• Minimum 3 years of public accounting experience (Big 4 desired)
  
  

We are continuing to hire with all interviews, and onboarding is done virtually due to COVID-19. To

ensure our employees’ safety, employment would be fully remote until further notice from

the local governments. While many of our roles have the flexibility to stay remote, this position will

require to be present in our San Jose, CA office once it re-open.
