Our client in North Dallas is adding an Accounting Manager to their team! This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside leadership and make an impact for a growing company!
The role in a nutshell:
The Accounting Manager is responsible for mentoring and managing a team of 4 Accounting Team Members and ensuring complete and timely accounting and reporting functions for the company.
Team Management Functions:
- Supervise, train and mentor accounting team, manage performance reviews and participate in the hiring process as needed
- Review the teams’ work and various transactions
- Manage related A/P and A/R transactions and ensure accurate processing
- Review open POs and work to obtain vendor bills to resolve
- Ensure resolution of client and vendor issues, and that accounts are reconciled and current
- Ensure timely application of client payments and research aging receivables
- Communicate and resolving collections issues when needed
- Onboard new clients and provide reporting as requested
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review monthly accruals
- Review financial and operational reports, prepare management reports and explain variances
- Prepare and review internal reporting for assigned lines of business
- Develop and manage new reports to support the organization’s reporting needs and participate in financial presentations
- Review financial processes and internal controls and make recommendations to improve processes whether through the financial systems or change in operations.
- Ensure all accounting is performed in accordance with US GAAP and SOX
- Identify and recommend process improvements and improving margins
- Participate in any system upgrades or implementations
- Ad hoc projects as required
Requirements:
Education Requirement: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting desired
Experience Requirements:
- Minimum of 5-7 years full cycle accounting experience and 2 years in a supervisory role
- Demonstrated leadership experience
- Experience with various accounting systems and reporting tools
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint)
- Adaptable, strong critical thinking skills, open to new ideas, process oriented, strong attention to detail and verbal and written communication skills.
- Must have experience working effectively in a cross-functional environment, interacting with multiple departments.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a customer service attitude
- Ability to work well in a deadline driven and dynamic environment, and pivot quickly to meet varying priorities
- Proven ability to work efficiently in a high demand, team oriented, and fast-paced environment
