As Atlan accelerates its growth in the Data & AI Governance sector, the Director of Sales for the West region in North America will play a pivotal role in driving our regional expansion. This newly created position marks our first dedicated regional sales leader in the West. By assembling and leading a top-performing team that embodies excellence and discipline, this leader will be crucial to sustaining and amplifying our hyper-growth.

You will oversee the execution of our sales strategy, ensuring mastery of every stage of the sales process and making informed decisions based on data. By cultivating a culture of growth, accountability, and positive competition, you will contribute to solidifying Atlan's leadership in the Data & AI governance sector.

The Mission


  • Drive Revenue Growth: Lead the net new business team to achieve and exceed sales targets, focusing on acquiring new customers and expanding Atlan’s market presence
  • Pipeline Management: Ensure a robust pipeline of qualified opportunities through combination ofpartner, and inbound motions. Drive excellence in our introduction and discovery process to build and maintain momentum in the customer journey
  • Sales Strategy Execution: Implement effective sales methodologies including Command of the Message, MEDDPICC, and coach and develop team members based on data driven feedback systems
  • Team Leadership: Provide strong leadership, mentorship, and guidance to the sales team, fostering a culture of high performance, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Customer Engagement: Act as a strategic partner for key accounts, understanding their business challenges and goals to position Atlan’s solutions effectively
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with marketing, product, and customer success teams to optimize sales processes, drive product enhancements, and ensure seamless customer experiences
  • Performance Monitoring: Track, analyze, and report on sales metrics and KPIs to assess team performance and identify areas for improvement
  • Market Insights: Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and market opportunities to maintain Atlan’s competitive edge
  • Training and Development: Continuously develop the skills and capabilities of the sales team through training programs, coaching, and performance management




What Makes You a Match for Us?


  • Experience: Minimum of 7 years of sales experience, with 2+ years leading high performing net new logo sales teams for Strategic & Enterprise customers
  • Proven Track Record: You have a history of achieving and exceeding team sales targets in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Data Experience: Ideally worked previously in the modern data stack, or alternatively a fast-growth scale up in SaaS
  • Leadership Excellence: You possess strong leadership and team-building skills, with the ability to inspire and guide a high-performing sales team
  • Coaching and Development: You excel in coaching team members, leveraging their unique strengths and helping them grow in their careers
  • Diverse Recruiting: You know how to identify and hire top talent, building a diverse and high-performing team
  • Strategic Mindset: You understand the intricacies of the sales process and are capable of turning strategic plans into actionable results
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field. MBA preferred
