Job Overview

We are looking for an experienced and passionate engineering manager to lead a committed team of Marchex engineers. You will be responsible for overseeing the design, development, and implementation of end-to-end solutions that deliver AI-driven analytics to our customers. As an engineering manager at Marchex, you will work in collaboration with other engineering managers and their teams to deliver complex product features securely at scale.

Outline Of Duties And Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence.
• Drive the design and implementation of robust end-to-end features that support our business objectives and ensure data integrity, availability, and security.
• Develop and implement comprehensive security strategies and best practices to safeguard our systems, data, and infrastructure.
• Champion agile methodologies across engineering teams, ensuring efficient delivery of high-quality software solutions through iterative development, continuous integration, and agile project management practices.
• Collaborate with product management and other stakeholders to define technical roadmaps, prioritize initiatives, and deliver solutions that meet both technical and business requirements.
• Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide constructive feedback, and support the professional growth and development of team members.
• Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in data architectures, security, and agile methodologies, and drive their adoption within the organization.
  
  

Experience, Skills And Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related field.
• Proven experience (2+ years) in a technical leadership role within a high-paced, agile software business.
• Understanding of data management principles, data modeling, database technologies, and big data frameworks.
• Proficient in data engineering tools and technologies.
• Expertise in designing and implementing secure, scalable, and resilient systems, with a strong focus on cybersecurity best practices
• Demonstrated success in implementing agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, etc.) and leading teams in an agile environment.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to articulate technical concepts and strategies to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and container orchestration tools (e.g., Kubernetes) is a plus.
• Certifications in relevant areas (e.g., CISSP, PMP, Agile certifications) are advantageous.
  
  

Working Conditions

The job conditions for this position are in a standard office setting and may be fully or partially remote. Employees in this position use PC and phone on an on-going basis throughout the day. Limited corporate travel may be required to remote offices or other business meetings and events.
