Primary responsibility is to coordinate the daily functions of the QC department in the measuring of precision machined components to the AS9100 Standard. This includes working with customers and vendors in the continuous improvements of the manufacturing process.
Performs and assists Inspectors in 1st piece, in-process, and final inspections of machined parts.
Perform 1st Article inspection per the customer’s request or the AS9100 standard.
Trains Inspectors to perform physical inspection of raw material and compares material certs.
Documents NCR’s and works to make improvements while working with the engineers.
Creates In-process inspection reports, bubble diagrams and all other necessary weekly reporting for the department.
Coordinates internal, registrar and Gov’t Source Inspection audits with outside services and acts as QMS representative.
Records inspection data as required in a neat and orderly manner.
Perform in-house calibrations on various gages and maintain calibration schedule.
Basic understanding of machine shop equipment and operation.
Requirements
Minimum 10 years experience in an ISO/AS9100 certified machine shop.
Full understanding of blueprints, engineering drawings including geometric tolerancing.
Strong background in Zeiss CMM’s and Calypso Programming.
Ability to use various measuring equipment for inspections and calibration.
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and with proper legible handwriting.
Strong safety, quality, and teamwork orientation with track record of dependability.
