Job Description

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Quality Assurance Manager to join our rapidly expanding PMO/IT organization. The ideal candidate should possess a profound understanding of systems architecture and design. Key responsibilities for this role include driving expansion and systematization of our QA program; modeling best practices, leading QA for large waterfall projects, and managing/executing comprehensive end-to-end testing of applications.

Responsibilities

  • Lead all aspects of company’s QA program, including requirements analysis, test plan design and sizing, test plan execution (including management of other test resources), and reporting
  • Work closely with business team and business requirement documents (including extensive waterfall requirement documents), as well as technical specifications / FRDs, to solve for test plan design, including identifying all necessary functional testing; manual vs automated testing; design and document test scenarios and test cases
  • Spearhead automated testing program, including philosophy and approach to automated testing, identify areas suitable for automated v manual testing, etc
  • Managing the testing team and all QA reporting, including C-suite progress reports and timelines
  • Model best testing practices, for the wider IT and PMO organization.
  • Conduct thorough analysis of bugs, errors, and defects identified during testing phases, utilizing debugging tools and techniques to isolate root causes.
  • Document test results and findings in clear and concise reports for the software development team, including detailed steps to reproduce issues and suggested resolutions.
  • Collaborate closely with the development team to enhance current testing pipelines, automate test cases, and integrate testing processes seamlessly into the software development lifecycle.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, tools, and advancements in quality assurance and software testing, continuously enhancing knowledge and skills to drive innovation and excellence.

Qualifications

Must Have

Please note that this job is only hiring candidates that live in the Metro NYC area and can commute to the office 3 days during the week.

  • Minimum 4 years’ experience in QA roles including management of test teams and/or large testing projects.
  • Experience with both waterfall and agile project management and QA programs.
  • Proficiency in analyzing lengthy business and functional requirement documents, sizing and drafting comprehensive functional testing plans.
  • Experience developing automated testing strategy, including identifying, sizing and presenting proposals for automated vs manual testing programs.
  • Meticulous attention to detail, ensuring thoroughness and accuracy in all aspects of software development and testing.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, capable of identifying issues, diagnosing root causes, and implementing effective solutions.
  • Strong team player with excellent leadership and collaboration skills, able to work efficiently and effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision, owning projects effectively, to establish then meet project deadlines.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in vendor-client projects, managing QA for vendor deliverables
  • Experience leading small teams and engaging directly with clients.
  • Minimum 1 year of hands-on experience in software development, with a strong understanding of software engineering principles and best practices.
  • Proficiency in developing web applications, utilizing various libraries, languages, and frameworks commonly used in web development.
  • Advanced knowledge and proficiency in JavaScript, Python, and SQL, with the ability to write clean, efficient, and maintainable code.

Salary

$150,000-180,000 per year with excellent benefits.
