Position Summary

The Technical Project Manager will play a critical role within the GDK (Game Development Kit) organization, overseeing projects that leverage Light and Wonder’s proprietary GDK. This game engine and SDK are pivotal in creating our globally recognized slot machine games and other casino products. The Technical Project Manager will collaborate closely with GDK Leadership to plan and coordinate GDK releases, ensuring alignment with the needs of various stakeholders including Product Management, Game Development, Platform Teams, and Quality Assurance.

Job Functions:

  • Create and maintain long term and short-term plans for GDK releases meeting new Game


Development feature and market needs

  • Serve as a point of contact for GDK planning across the company to ensure GDK meets business needs
  • Host regular project meetings and communicate with development managers to coordinate


timely GDK tech stack releases to meet the engineering needs of GDK stakeholders

  • Stay informed about global game development trends and emerging features by regularly


engaging with game development teams worldwide, ensuring future GDK releases meet

evolving industry standards and requirements

  • Manage quality control on GDK releases throughout the development cycle of GDK
  • Collaborates with Software Engineers, Artists, Quality Assurance and other supporting


personnel to become familiar with documentation needs.

  • Organize and manage documentation across multiple evolving versions of our GDK.
  • Gather stakeholder user feedback on documentation to improve usability and prioritize


projects.

  • Take part in requirements gathering discussions to help capture necessary documentation.


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Highly organized, detail oriented, and excellent communication and teamwork skills, including willingness and ability to consult with subject matter experts across the organization.
  • Knowledgeable in software management tools and processes (defect tracking, source control, etc)
  • Familiarity with software best practices
  • Ability to take initiative on projects with defined goals and clear instruction on assignments.
  • Command of the English language and grammar is essential.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office programs, including MS Word, and Excel.


Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required, with an equivalent combination of education and experience that includes some project management.


Required Experience:

  • 4+ years experience in a relevant project management role


Preferred Experience:

  • Game Development or industry experience
  • Experience with content collaboration and task management tools (e.g., Confluence, JIRA)
  • Broad Knowledge of project development tools - Experience of Oracle PLM
  • Specific source control Knowledge of GitHub/Perforce
  • Solid technical skills. Must be able to participate confidently in technical discussions, easily


understand technical issues, and be able to identify technical risks.

  • Demonstrable experience of managing stakeholders. Experience of being the technical/project contact point on multiple deliverables.
  • Coordination with 3rd party vendors and suppliers
  • Familiarity with Unity or other game engines
