Job Overview
As a Bookkeeper at RUBINO, you will manage and maintain the company’s financial records with precision and integrity. Your responsibilities will include tracking cash flows, reconciling accounts, handling accounts payable, and generating financial reports. A solid understanding of bookkeeping principles and accounting fundamentals is essential for success in this role.
Key Responsibilities
Basic Bookkeeping Knowledge:
- Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions.
- Ensure timely and accurate data entry into the company’s accounting system.
- Prepare financial documents and reports as needed.
Accounting Fundamentals:
- Cash Flows: Track and manage the company’s cash inflows and outflows. Ensure sufficient cash flow for operational needs.
- Income Statements: Prepare and analyze income statements to assess the company’s profitability over a specific period.
- Balance Sheet: Create and review balance sheets to provide a snapshot of the company’s financial position at any given time.
- General Ledger (GL): Maintain and update the general ledger with accurate financial transactions and ensure all entries are correctly recorded.
GL Reconciliation:
- Regularly reconcile general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies in ledger accounts.
Bank Reconciliation:
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations to ensure that the company's bank statements align with internal records.
- Address any discrepancies between bank statements and company records promptly.
Accounts Payable:
- Process and manage accounts payable transactions, including writing and issuing cheques, drafts, and electronic transfers.
- Ensure timely payment of invoices and manage vendor relationships.
Entry of Invoices:
- Accurately enter and code invoices into the accounting system.
- Verify invoice details and match them with purchase orders and receipts.
Monthly Accounting Reports:
- Generate and review weekly financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Analyze reports to provide insights and recommendations for financial management.
Skills and Qualifications
- Education: Relevant degree or certification in accounting, finance, or related field preferred.
- Experience: Previous bookkeeping or accounting experience is advantageous.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., EDI) and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
- Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping.
- Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze financial data and generate insightful reports.
- Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Position: Full-Time, Permanent
Hours: Monday to Friday
