MUST have

POSITION SUMMARY

The Billing Director is responsible for the management of patient accounts to ensure that they are in compliance with the philosophy, policies, procedures, goals and budget of the departments. Management of day-to-day relationship with revenue cycle management (RCM) vendor. As a leader in the organization, one must demonstrate appropriate conduct and positive attitude to foster creativity, innovation and a culture of success. Ensuring effective communication to both internal and external stakeholders will play a large role in the success of this position.

PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS

  • Act as liaison with RCM vendor to provide problem resolution internally and work closely to pass critical information to RCM vendor, including management of day-to-day relationship of RCM vendor;
  • Management of open tasks and action items and meet with RCM vendor on a regular basis to review open items and outline resolution steps and timeframes;
  • Assists providers, administrators, clinicians, ect. in compiling data for accurate billing for services rendered;
  • Ensures the accuracy and relevance of billing and insurance information as needed and provide internally and to RCM vendor
  • Responds to written inquiries promptly and documents the account response as well as the action(s) taken from patient insurance companies;
  • Manage and measure aging receivables to ensure that all bad debt and uncollectible receivables are managed according to the CFG Adjustment Policy;
  • Manage patient accounts when questions and concerns regarding the billing arises;
  • Assist RCM vendor with follows up with insurance companies to ensure that claims are paid and monitors reimbursements received for accuracy;
  • Support investigations from RCM vendor regarding overdue claims, denied charges and appeals for any incorrectly denied claims;
  • Communicate updated patient demographics as needed. This includes the patient’s insurance and personal data;
  • Assist with patient statements, as needed.
  • Follows up with clinician regarding treatment plan requests and documents when they are distributed;
  • Manage weekly billing for Residential business line(s) through CareLogic
  • All other duties as assigned


POSITION REQUIRMENTS

A combination of certificate or degree in medical billing with minimum of 5-7 years of experience in billing and collections, preferably in a medical facility. Must have excellent oral and written communications skills. NextGen, CareLogic and Waystar experience preferred.
