This position advances the American Cancer Society’s mission, goals and objectives by serving as the lead of the Marketing Project Management team helping to efficiently steward the organizations resources, optimize organizational processes and ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery of marketing campaigns and requests.

The Senior Marketing Project Manager is pivotal in leading the team of marketing project managers in orchestrating and executing integrated marketing projects and ensuring seamless collaboration across various marketing teams and channels, as well as additional internal and external stakeholders.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of successfully managing both direct reports and multiple complex projects, excellent communication skills, and a deep understanding of marketing channels and deliverables. This person enjoys working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and overcoming obstacles to achieve project and task delivery success. Accountable for effective marketing resource management and ensuring projects are completed on time, budget and scope.

This position is a member of the Marketing Strategy team reporting to the VP Marketing Strategy, Brand and will work closely with key stakeholders across the marketing team, specifically creative, direct marketing and digital product project managers.

***This is a remote position that can be home-based anywhere in the United States.***

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITES

  • Team Management: Lead and motivate marketing project management team to achieve their best work. Provide direction and delegate tasks to facilitate seamless communication and collaboration across Marketing team (Marketing Strategy, Creative, Digital Product, Direct Marketing), other key organization stakeholders and external agency partners.
  • Resource Management: Manage and prioritize resources efficiently across business portfolios to meet project deadlines and objectives. Lead integrated team to assess and prioritize project requests. Collaborate with marketing strategy leaders, creative production director and creative directors to identify the resources necessary and secure talent/resource accordingly.
  • Risk Management: Proactively anticipate and mitigate potential resourcing and project risks, issues or bottlenecks, ensuring proactive problem-solving. Develop contingency plans to address unforeseen challenges and implement solutions to keep resources balanced and projects on track.
  • Operations Optimization: Generate and distribute regular reports on overarching marketing project performance and efficiency. Analyze process and leverage insights to identify and implement areas for streamlining or automation in marketing workflows.
  • Project Planning and Execution: Serve as project manager for high priority and/or highly complex projects. Develop comprehensive end-to-end project plans outlining tasks, timelines, and resource/budget requirements. Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with overall marketing strategy and milestones. Oversee the integration and implementation of marketing tactics across multiple channels, including paid media, social media, direct mail, email, web and events.

FORMAL KNOWLEDGE

  • 8+ years of project management experience in a marketing department, organization or agency.
  • Strong understanding of integrated marketing strategies and campaign execution. Knowledge of the planning, creative and production processes for traditional, digital, social, and interactive content.
  • Experience working in a highly collaborative environment with multiple stakeholders.
  • Analytical and possess strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in written communications.
  • Proficient in project management tools and software.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment, managing complex and multiple assignments.

SPECIALIZED TRAINING OR KNOWLEDGE

  • PMI Training or certification
  • Monday.com Platform Familiarly/Proficiency

SPECIAL MENTAL OR PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
  • Limited physical activity required.
  • Travel is required to occasional in-person meetings

The starting rate is $88,000 to $110,000 annual. The final candidate's relevant experience/skills will be considered before an offer is extended. Actual starting pay will vary based on non-discriminatory factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, experience, skills, specialty, and education.
