GENERAL FUNCTION

The role is a key member of the team charged with managing product (frames, lenses & contact lenses) at Luxottica Retail Optical North America. Scope includes Team Vision stores and related businesses in the U.S. and Canada. The objective of the role is to support growth of the retail business through run-the-business management of the categories and implementation of growth initiatives.

This role requires critical thinking, initiative and drive as well as experience in analytical problem solving, product management, program planning, and implementation. A technical understanding of product, familiarity with supply chain, and ability to work with a global network of partners within and outside of EssilorLuxottica Group together with advanced skills in managing a wide team of professionals is also required.

Major Duties And Responsibilities

  • Be the complete pair local implementation point of reference for the business and the key local functions, including Operations, RxO, Merchandising, Visual Merchandising, Retail Planning, Training, Marketing and Communications, to communicate and execute a comprehensive product strategy that aligns future financial and product opportunities.
  • Serve as the expert providing insights and analysis with local business stakeholders and global partners.
  • Implement the product strategy with a complete pair approach (translating the global guidelines into local plans).
  • Drive category growth and guarantee optimal service level to Optical Banners in line with General Manager expectations.
  • Provide local market insight ensuring needs of local market are known and met.
  • Execute product projects based on central guidelines (front windows, product tests, bring to life, etc.) supporting the business and functional units in achieving their goals by serving as a project manager, change agent, thought partner, process expert and facilitator.
  • Coordinate commercial and promotional calendar for the banner.
  • Coordinate the customer journey, field communication and troubleshooting, Product NPI Debrief and launch to the field.
  • Partner with senior leadership during the strategic planning and budget process to set strategic priorities, identify and evaluate business opportunities, select, and prioritize projects in line with priorities.

Basic Qualifications

  • 10+ years’ experience in retail planning, buying or merchandising.
  • Experience in a retail fast-paced company and a B2B/wholesale business.
  • Experience working with field and stores.
  • Proficient/advanced computer skills (Excel & SAP).
  • Ability to lead large initiatives and collaborate across functional teams while balancing multiple projects simultaneously to meet stringent deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Comprehension of finance and accounting principles - ability to communicate financial plans and results from a merchandise perspective.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Travel required visiting existing stores, new store openings, and cross-functioning offices.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Self-starter who can operate at strategic level and willing to “roll up their sleeves” to advance project work.
  • Ability to lead and develop a team.
  • Ability to collaborate with highly technical partners and translate between technical, business and consumer “languages”.
  • Experience in Eyewear Industry.

Pay Range: 167,514.80 - 229,605.20

Employee pay is determined by multiple factors, including geography, experience, qualifications, skills and local minimum wage requirements. In addition, you may also be offered a competitive bonus and/or commission plan, which complements a first-class total rewards package.
