$300,000.00/yr - $450,000.00/yr

COMPANY DESCRIPTION:

Newco is a talent-forward media and entertainment content company formed to unlock and realize the dramatic growth potential of its 6 acquired businesses: talent management, unscripted TV, documentary, creative agency, and live events/sports league.


SCOPE & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Newco is seeking a results-driven Chief Operating Officer (COO) to oversee our operations, strategic initiatives, and drive the company’s growth and profitability. The COO will play a pivotal in enhancing efficiency, and fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration. This position offers an exciting opportunity to lead in a dynamic and evolving industry, driving sustainable growth and operational excellence.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Operational Leadership:

  • Provide strategic leadership and oversight of day-to-day operations across all departments, including production, distribution, technology, and facilities management.
  • Develop and implement operational strategies, policies, and procedures to optimize efficiency, streamline workflows, and maximize productivity.

Financial Management:

  • Collaborate with the CFO to develop and manage annual budgets, forecasts, and financial plans aligned with strategic objectives.
  • Implement cost control measures and resource allocation strategies to maximize operational efficiency and ROI.

Business Development and Growth:

  • Identify new business opportunities, partnerships, and revenue streams to drive growth and expand market share.
  • Lead negotiations and manage key relationships with external partners, vendors, and stakeholders to drive business growth and market penetration.

Production and Content Management:

  • Oversee the production pipeline and content development processes, ensuring the delivery of high-quality and commercially successful entertainment products.
  • Foster a culture of creativity, innovation, and excellence within production teams to continually elevate content offerings and consumer engagement.

Technology and Innovation:

  • Evaluate and implement new technologies and systems to enhance operational efficiency, content delivery, and audience engagement.
  • Champion digital transformation initiatives and leverage emerging technologies to enhance content distribution, audience engagement, and operational efficiencies.

Leadership and Team Development:

  • Mentor, coach, and develop a high-performing leadership team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive work environment that values diversity, creativity, and professional growth.


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 20+ years of progressive experience in, with the last 5+ years as a COO, within the media and entertainment industry, with substantial experience in operations management.
  • B.A. or B.S. in Business Administration, Management or other related field of study. M.B.A. or other advanced degree preferred.
  • Broad and deep operational experience at a publicly held portfolio company.
  • Strong business acumen and strategic thinking, with a track record of driving operational excellence and achieving financial targets.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Someone who has a strategic viewpoint with the ability to “see around corners,” to anticipate risks and opportunities.
  • A proven leader and influencer, with experience in aligning and building teams and inspiring an organization.
  • A grounded, collaborative team player who identifies and promotes 'best practices' approach to improve efficiency and overall performance of all aspects of the business.
  • Collaborative, yet a natural decision maker.
  • An arsenal of hard and soft skills including communication, persuasion, and discretion as well as the ability to translate complex issues into understandable insights and provide commercially-sound business justification to support executive decision-making.
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills with ability to effectively engage with senior executives, management teams, staff, and external stakeholders.
