Project Manager

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support change control efforts by tracking potential changes, and ensuring impacts to budget, schedule, and other projects are given visibility with the client and project management.
  • Serve as a connector and engage with stakeholders to identify and socialize impacts of decisions and/or changes within assigned projects, across the greater program, and throughout the company.
  • Maintain change management tools.
  • Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors to ensure timely and cost-effective execution of project tasks.
  • Assist project team members, Subject Matter Experts, and Sponsor with the definition of project scope and objectives by involving relevant stakeholders, identifying requirements, and ensuring technical feasibility.
  • Work with impacted areas of the company to secure adequate resources, materials, and funding.
  • Perform continued maintenance, updating and tracking of project schedule activities and progress reporting.
  • Identify and manage dependencies between departments, systems, vendors, and assets.
  • Successfully establish and maintain effective relationships with internal and external resources and key project stakeholders.
  • Identify and document project issues and risks and monitor progress of mitigation actions.
  • Develop and maintain of required project management artifacts in accordance with Client Project Management standards and applicable regulations.

Required Skills

Required Skills & Work Experience

  • Working knowledge of and experience in project management.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills across all levels with a focus on collaboration, team building, and customer service.
  • Experience with working on cross-functional teams.
  • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, MS Project).
  • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 2 years of project management experience, or any equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Must have authorization to work in the United States.

Preferred Skills & Work Experience

  • Previous experience with project change management.
  • Working knowledge of railroad systems, practices, and nomenclature.

***Lumen and / or its clients will not provide equipment (Laptop, monitor, etc.) to the selected contractor. The contractor must have their own equipment. Access to a virtual desktop set up (software) will be provided by Lumen’s client, allowing the user access to the required systems and technology.***
