Morgan Stanley is a global financial services leader with three core businesses - Institutional Securities, Asset Management, and Global Wealth Management. Global Wealth Management is offered by the Morgan Stanley Wealth Management (MSWM) franchise, which encompasses both the Financial Advisor Field and Digital Direct Network. This role is in the MSWM Investment Platforms organization. WM Platforms encompasses a wide range of services and support designed to add value to our clients with a shared goal of serving the best interests of Service Partners and Clients and our clients.

Job Description: This Vice President/Product Owner position will report to a designated officer within the Asset Movement Platforms team, and work closely with various stakeholders including business, operations, technology, LRC, fraud and advisor /service support teams across Wealth Management as we continue to develop and enhance our asset movement platforms (i.e., systems and processes used for the movement of assets through Automated Clearing House, Wire Transfer, check disbursement/deposits, internal transfer of cash and securities). This role will be broad, and based upon project priorities, will focus on 1) process re-engineering/enhancing the platform in partnership with technology following the Agile methodology 2) identify and articulate strategic solutions to support a target operating model for further streamlining across various channel platforms including advice, digital direct and workplace, 3) ensure strong controls with our platforms and supporting policies; and 4) manage day to day support of these processing platforms (e.g., production outage remediations, escalations).

Responsibilities

  • -Provide Product Owner Leadership, Business Analysis and Subject Matter Expertise to deliver enhanced and streamlined systems/processes to our field services and various home office partner teams.
  • -Lead projects and direct partners across the firm throughout various project life cycles to ensure alignment and cohesiveness.
  • -Identify, analyze, and interpret data/trends in complex data sets to define strategy of Asset Movement Platform
  • -Lead efforts related to the strengthening of controls and policy alignment in the asset movement space.
  • -Engage with Legal, Risk, Compliance, Fraud and Regulatory Relations on various projects related to the money movement controls suite.
  • -Lead efforts to develop and deliver marketing, training, and communications across the broader organization as it relates to platform and policy changes and help drive adoption of changes.
  • -Provide detailed money movement data analysis to support business driven recommendations/changes.
  • -Perform other miscellaneous project leadership activities as directed by head of Asset Movement Platform team.
  • -Must be highly motivated and an independent leader with a strong work ethic.
  • -Be able to work in a strong team and high activity environment where the sharing of ideas and talents is encouraged and welcomed
  • -Prior platform/business/product ownership experience preferred
  • -Strong written and verbal communication skills in both business and technical contexts
  • -Strong analytical, process-oriented, user experience, problem-solving/issues-resolution skills
  • -Strong organizational, attention to detail and excellent follow up skills
  • -Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint required
  • -Possess the ability to perform data and metrics- based analysis
  • -Familiarity with Agile methodologies preferred
  • -Experience with JIRA preferred
  • -Money Movement process experience preferred
  • -BA or BS preferred, but not required

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $100,000 and $180,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
