Key Responsibilities

The role lies within the Operations team for the Global Treasury & Trade Solutions (TTS) business, and is focused leading the change portfolio focused on operations risk across critical functions. The role will be multifaceted, including:

  • Team and function leadership: lead a virtual globally distributed team focused on risk and regulatory remediation projects providing guidance, direction, coaching and support as appropriate.
  • Shapes re-engineering programs to remediate operational risk through continuous improvement and learning opportunities from issues, risks and regulatory feedback. Development of horizontal common capabilities to break down siloes of solutions being developed within organizational boundaries.
  • Identify gaps and define opportunities in current end-to-end processes for improving delivery.
  • Program management oversight: oversee the processes required for the governance of the operations risk portfolio: centralized tracking, measurement and reporting.
  • Coordinate strategic initiatives and ensure team is leveraging infrastructure modernization efforts to further the Operations risk reduction agenda, reducing manual touch points and remediate manual & bespoke processes.
  • Maintain strong Risk & Controls environment, ensuring projects that are supported by the change organization are effectively addressed and closed on time.

Knowledge/Experience

  • Experience in a risk-centric, or operations management role.
  • Strong communication skills, with demonstrable experience of preparing executive-facing collateral, presenting technical topics to a non-technical audience in an engaging and easy to understand way, and also presenting business and regulatory requirements with the precision and rigour needed for technology teams to successfully implement.
  • Understanding of cash management, accounts payable & accounts receivable functions, digital, trade services and transaction banking in general.
  • Advanced level experience in a related role with extensive experience in business, functional and people management.
  • Experience delivering re-engineering in a complex, multi-national banking environment.
  • Ability to lead and motivate diverse teams in multiple locations, including senior managers.
  • Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication.
  • Proven ability to establish and maintain business partnerships.
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to present complex concepts and strategies successfully.
  • Proven ability to meet new challenges, assimilate new information and to influence people through maturity of approach.

  • Organizational and planning skills, showing an ability to operate in a multi-geography, matrix organisation; managing and where necessary leading activities through cross-functional teams, with the discipline to track delivery of complex deliverables over multiple months.
  • Strong analytical skills to use and present data to support business decisions
  • Digitisation enthusiast - driving digital solutions
  • Creative with PowerPoint to deliver impactful messages to senior internal decision makers
  • Proactivity – owning projects and initiatives with a “hands on” approach to ensure timely delivery, with risks identified and appropriately managed. Recognising the need for action or change, and executing on it.
  • Solution oriented - able to identify operational pain points and suggest the path to resolution
  • Good communicator, able to work in diverse cultural environment
  • Driven, resilient and tenacious. Execution focused, overcomes obstacles and minimizes bureaucracy.

Qualifications:

  • 15+ years relevant experience

Education:

  • Bachelor’s/University degree, Master’s degree preferred and managerial experience
