Purchasing Operations Manager

Overview: Sweetgreen is seeking a meticulous and technically proficient Purchasing Operations Manager to oversee purchasing activities and ensure high-quality data alignment across trading partners. The Purchasing Operations Manager will manage alert-based workflows, coordinate with suppliers, and support the overall efficiency of purchasing operations.

Responsibilities

• Alert-Based Workflows:
• Manage alert-based workflows using procurement software to align schedules and data among trading partners, logistics companies, and internal stakeholders.
• Ensure timely communication and follow-up on alerts using automated notification systems.
• Supplier Coordination:
• Maintain effective communication with suppliers using Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) tools to ensure order accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
• Support supplier performance evaluations and continuous improvement initiatives through data-driven insights.
• Manage supplier documentation, including contracts and compliance records using digital document management systems.
• Data Management and Reporting:
• Ensure high-quality data integrity across all purchasing operations through regular data audits and validation processes.
• Collect and analyze purchasing data using advanced analytics tools to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
• Prepare reports on key performance indicators (KPIs) and present findings to the Director of Supply Management.
• Support for Supply Chain Functions:
• Collaborate with sourcing, logistics, demand management, and quality assurance teams to support comprehensive supply chain operations.
• Assist in the development and implementation of purchasing processes and best practices using process optimization tools.
• Participate in cross-functional meetings and contribute to project initiatives using project management software.
• Compliance and Documentation:
• Ensure all purchasing documentation, including contracts and compliance certifications, are accurate and up-to-date through rigorous documentation processes.
• Manage the collection and organization of samples for quality assurance and regulatory compliance using sample management systems.

• Technical Expertise:
• Experience in purchasing operations, procurement, or supply chain management with proficiency in advanced procurement software and tools.
• Strong data analysis skills with expertise in analytics and data management technologies.

• Understanding of sustainable supply chain practices and a commitment to promoting sustainability.
• Organizational and Analytical Skills:
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively using task management tools.

• Ability to work collaboratively with suppliers, carriers, and internal teams using collaborative platforms.
• Travel:
• Willingness to travel extensively (50%) to support purchasing operations and supplier engagements.

• Achieve a 98% service level agreement (SLA) adherence rate with internal and external partners.
• Ensure seamless coordination with suppliers and distributors to meet service expectations.

• Align purchasing costs with company affordability targets, achieving a minimum of 5% annual cost savings.
• Maintain cost-effectiveness in all purchasing operations.
• Quality:
• Implement and sustain six-sigma processes to achieve a zero-defect rate in purchasing operations.
• Ensure purchasing processes are consistently repeatable with minimal variation.
• Growth:
• Promote sustainability by developing and retaining top talent, achieving a 90% employee retention rate in the purchasing team.
• Ensure sustainable sourcing practices for 100% of purchased products.
• Reduce environmental impact by achieving a 10% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions annually through purchasing decisions.

Salary Range For This Role

Starting salary range based on experience

$120,000—$130,000 USD
