Summary

The Operations Finance Director will oversee the financial planning and responsibility for the Company, provide operational financial reporting, financial analysis and distribution and manufacturing cost analysis, support Sales and G&A functions, and ensure balance sheet integrity and foster a strong controls environment in the plant.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee the financial planning and responsibilities for the business:
    • Lead the annual budget process down to a cost center level
    • Prepare periodic forecasts as appropriate
    • Develop standardized reporting for the business
    • Board level reporting including monthly business updates
  • Provide operational financial reporting, financial analysis and distribution and manufacturing cost analysis by:
    • Preparing monthly reporting on actuals budget and forecast, and identifying variances and opportunities for improvement
    • Analyzing and interpreting plant performance, evaluating variances and assessing the effects on business performance
    • Analyzing and forecasting working capital, inventory, and inventory requirements
    • Providing management with strategic analysis, reporting, and insights
    • Collaborating cross functionally with engineers, procurement, and plant operations to identify and drive business efficiencies
    • Leading the development of R&D business cases and investment analysis for capital expenditure proposals; support other business cases on an as-needed basis
  • Support Sales and G&A functions as needed, which may include:
    • Development of revenue budgets and projections
    • KPI tracking and analytics
    • Cost function budgeting and forecasting
  • Ensure balance sheet integrity and foster a strong controls environment in the plant by:
    • Supporting the accounting cycle including month end close activities, and inventory management and controls
    • managing and mitigating business risks; and proactively seeking and improving any deficiencies
    • Monitoring and ensuring a strong internal controls environment and proactively enhancing financial controls and processes
  • Promote a safe workplace by performing all tasks in a safe and thoughtful manner in compliance with all rules, procedures, instructions, devices, equipment and use of appropriate personal protective equipment. Maintain vigilance for any hazardous conditions or practices in the workplace and immediately report any unsafe condition or practice to your supervisor.
  • Performs other duties as directed

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting and/or Finance is required; CPA or MBA preferred
  • Solid understanding of accounting / manufacturing cost accounting required
  • Familiarity with S&OP processes preferred
  • Minimum of 10 years of professional experience, with at least 5 years in a manufacturing plant environment
  • Familiarity with ERP systems including Microsoft D365 preferred
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office applications and aptitude for implementing new technology solutions
  • Proactive Controllership mindset
  • Experience as business partner to Finance and Operations teams
  • Highly motivated and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
