Silq combines industry-leading software, proprietary data, and deep industry experience to deliver inspection and shipping services that are cost-effective and reliable.


The Role

Silq seeks a highly analytical, detail-oriented finance professional to lead its finance and accounting operations. Roles and responsibilities will include:


Financial Planning & Analysis.

  • Own annual budgeting from end-to-end, creating the operating and hiring plan
  • Provide board and leadership with visibility into tracking performance against plan


Strategic Leadership Function

  • Sponsor/Lead strategic initiatives involving new partnerships and product launches
  • Own quarterly OKR setting and tracking performance against those OKR’s
  • Co-lead efforts to setup and maintain comp plans for sales & account management


Finance & Accounting Operations

  • Work with and manage the accounting team to accurately and efficiently close the books on a monthly basis and deliver to investors our various reporting documents
  • Oversee our collections process as well as our payments to vendors
  • Manage cash balances across operating accounts and treasury


Fundraising and Investor Relations

  • Be a trusted advisor to Silq leadership as to the capital needs of the business, engaging equity investors and debt providers to assist with the fundraise process.
  • Work closely with the leadership team to own the process of creating quarterly board materials as well as materials for ad-hoc board meetings.


Taxes and Compliance

  • Manage timely filing and payment of our taxes.
  • Manage industry-specific compliance requirements (IE, compliance with FMC and FMCSA) as well as other state and local compliance requirements.


Thought leadership and Filling Gaps

  • As the leader of the finance org, you will be a trusted advisor to senior leadership as well as managers across the company. You will be trusted to provide your financial expertise and analytical ability to key strategic projects across sales, operations, product, and everywhere in-between.


Your experience: You should apply if you have

  • Have 5-10 years progressive finance experience. Some experience in investment banking, private equity, or venture capital is ideal but not necessary.
  • Have experience managing small, lean teams based overseas (India)
  • Have experience working for or with (as advisor/investor) growth-stage startups.
  • Are highly proficient in Microsoft Excel.
  • Have a positive, can-do attitude.
  • Are comfortable working in ambiguity and building process.
  • Have a knack for problem solving and working cross functionally.
