Accounting Supervisor ( Hybrid )

The Accounting Supervisor reports to FARE's Director of Accounting who is responsible for providing information and leadership to the senior team to ensure FARE achieves its mission to improve the quality of life of individuals with food allergies. The individual will also work with the CFO, the Accounting Director, and the senior team to develop annual budgets and provide monthly reporting on budget to actual results by department and project.

This is more than a job. We are looking for someone with the requisite skills as well as a passion to make a difference. Someone who also has technical excel skills and is comfortable creating one-time and recurring reports from the accounting tool (Sage/Intacct).

Key Duties And Responsiblities

  • As Accounting Supervisor, you will work for a nonproft organization that is committed to maximizing the investments made by our donors to improve the lives of individuals wih food allergies. The Accounting Supervisor performs financial schedules and analysis to ensure that project and activity-based reporting is properly captured on a timely basis, assists the Accounting Director and Accounting Manager in the Monthly Financial Reporting Package prepared for the CFO. They build reports for higher level associates; provide management and research partners with project statuses; perform reporting and analysis to support presentation and ad-hoc requests. The role requires strong communication, problem solving, critical thinking, and influencing skills in order to effectively:
  • Ensure that activity-based expenses are reviewed and recorded appropriately.
  • Update the monthly activity (revenue and expense) associated with time or purpose restricted net assets and to ensure they are properly book-kept.
  • Responsibilites:
  • Financial reporting and analysis, including budgeting, variance analysis, financial reporting, and Profit & Loss (P&L) management.
  • Be a financial partner providing support for the Accounting Director and CFO on special project-based funding proposals (done in concert with Senior Management).
  • Coordinate and collect input data from fucntional departments, check data integrity, summarize, and convert data, run models, verify, analyze, and communicate output data.
  • Independently manage and prioritize workload.
  • Manage and track restricted funds.
  • Process employee expenses and reimbursements and review for coding and compliance.
  • Future Opportunity (at the decision of the Director of Accounting) to supervise one accounting staff-member.

Candidate Profile

  • Accounting BA (CPA desired) with srong accounting and data analysis/desktop tool skills.
  • Minimum of 2-5 years business experience, more experience will be considered.
  • Well organized and ablity to work under pressure.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills and facility with numbers.
  • Ability to work effectively with colleagues, doctors/researchers, donors. They are your customers.
  • PC Skills: Word/Excel/PowerPoint-you need to be a "Pivot Table" guru.
