The senior behavior analyst provides support to BCBAs or directly oversees the development of treatment goals and intervention to address areas of client need across the school and community environments. Senior behavior analysts utilize assessment to develop a treatment plan, programs, and interventions to promote positive behavior change. They monitor client progress ongoingly, modifying interventions when necessary, documenting all changes and client progress. In addition, the senior behavior analyst provides direct training and supervision to BCBAs as well as to all other necessary team members.

Essential Functions

  • Ensures that all behavior analytic programming conducted under their supervision by staff is provided in a safe and ethical manner
  • Provides oversight on all behavioral programming including aspects of instruction or intervention that may have an impact on causing dangerous behavior or may hinder the development of behaviors to replace dangerous behaviors. This includes oversight of instruction and interventions developed or implemented by: BCBAs, BCs, Special Education Teachers, Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language Pathologists, BHT, LBHT, and EBS staff
  • Assists BCBA or completes functional assessment and analysis of problematic behaviors as well as assessments of skill deficits, motivation, and other environmental variables in order to increase use of safe and socially acceptable behaviors and decrease problematic behaviors
  • Assists BCBA or completes skills-based assessments, as needed and assigned
  • Assists BCBA or leads development, implementation, and monitoring of treatment plan goals, programs, and behavioral interventions across settings
  • Assists BCBA or oversees accurate collection and analysis of behavior data to make decisions about treatment interventions
  • Assists BCBA or completes monitoring of treatment fidelity ongoingly for all assigned clients
  • Conducts all interactions with clients and internal and external team members in a positive, professional, and caring manner
  • Collaborates and communicates regularly with internal and external team members, including families, BH-MCO care managers, school districts, primary care physicians, and case managers
  • Trains, monitors, and provides performance feedback to BCBA, Special Education Teachers, Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language Pathologists, BHT, LBHT, and EBS staff
  • Assists BCBA or completes assessments to monitor BT performance to standard expectations to inform training needs to further refine ABA understanding and use of tactics and principles
  • Addresses performance discrepancies in collaboration with the Behavioral Services Manager through targeted training plans, ongoing measurement of staff performance and improvements, regular review of performance with staff, as well as providing updates and collaboration with HR and BT supervisors
  • Provides training and feedback to all team members in a supportive and collaborative manner and receives and implements coaching from others to improve performance
  • Develops and provides training to Vista employees and stakeholders on the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis and Autism Spectrum Disorder
  • Assists BCBA or leads treatment plan update meetings
  • Assists BCBA or develops, presents, and maintains restrictive practice plans overseen by Vista’s Human Rights Team
  • Maintains and submits all required documentation by expected deadlines
  • Completes other duties as assigned

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The following positions or frequent movements are typical of the job: sitting, walking, standing, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, stooping, kneeling, and crawling, often for extended periods of the workday. Assignments may require the ability to physically move clients during possible physical interventions in order to maintain a safe learning environment.

The position requires that an individual be able to learn new tasks quickly and effectively. Job requirements may change frequently. The ability to understand and carry out detailed, involved, instructions is mandatory. The incumbent must be able to travel to multiple locations as needed, when needed to conduct organizational business. Subject to inside environmental conditions.

EXPECTED SCHEDULE

This is a full time 40 hour per week position. Days and hours of the workweek are agreed upon by management, the school, and EIBS calendar. Services may be provided across school and community settings.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in related service field required
  • Behavior Analyst Board Certification required with 5 or more years of work experience since passing the certification exam
  • Behavior Specialist Licensure required
  • Previous experience working with individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorders required
  • Previous experience working with and overseeing treatment teams working with individuals that engage in frequent and intense dangerous behavior
  • Previous experience or knowledge delivering Applied Behavior Analysis programming and methodology required
  • Previous experience with functional communication training, tolerance training required
  • Previous experience with functional analysis including traditional and practical/synthesized functional analysis preferred
  • Previous experience with skills-based treatment preferred
  • High proficiency of Microsoft Office products and Internet applications required
  • Ability to implement, train, and coach other staff on the implementation of services and proper crisis prevention and intervention techniques required

Knowledge And Skills

  • Current First Aid and CPR Training highly desired
  • Ability to independently problem solve and make quick decisions
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
