JOB DESCRIPTION

The Vice President, OEM Business is responsible for all aspects of turning our business partnerships into true success for both Masimo and the partner company (OEM) they are assigned to manage. The incumbent must become these companies’ advocates at Masimo and Masimo’s advocate at these companies. The incumbent stays in close contact with these companies, with regular conversations and face-to-face visits, and must be familiar with their business strategies and product road maps so they can collaborate on how Masimo’s solutions most effectively facilitate mutual success and enhanced care for our joint patients. The incumbent also must understand both the contract terms Masimo has with each of the partners they have been assigned to manage, both in terms of the spirit of our relationship, as well as the written T&C’s, including but not limited to the sections that address our respective obligations. The incumbent must ensure Masimo’s internal resources are aware of and taking the right actions to meet our obligations, and ensure each OEM remains aware of and meets their obligations as well as what we have agreed to accomplish together. As a part of this process, the incumbent will educate and remind OEM stakeholders from multiple functional areas including Marketing, Sales, Engineering (and other departments as necessary) how Masimo can help them maximize their business success and satisfaction within their customer base.

Reporting Relationships

This position reports to: VP of Worldwide OEM Business.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Develop strategies to maximize the volume of Masimo technology deployed in both total volume and across their current and future monitoring platforms;
  • Establish a line of open communication and consistent management of issues and opportunities;
  • Create a candid, trusting, partnership-oriented relationship with assigned OEM partners;
  • Pursue commitment from assigned OEMs to integrate Masimo SET and Rainbow SET pulse oximetry/pulse co-oximetry, Masimo capnography, O3 regional oximetry, SedLine brain function monitoring, in addition to future parameter technologies and Masimo sensor options;
  • Work with OEM’s marketing team to ensure they are marketing Masimo technology and its advantages in their brochures, presentations, website, trade shows, advertisements, etc.;
  • Provide marketing and trade show support where needed;
  • Ensure that Masimo is invited to participate in the OEM’s sales force training (Masimo to be given 60 minutes training time at regional and national sales meetings);
  • Ensure OEM’s provide the proper product positioning and maintain visibility and the appropriate actions to address their individual and/or joint obligations under our Agreement;
  • Recommend strategy and tactics to maximize business with each OEM, by finding ways that will benefit the OEM’s;
  • Work with Pole Presidents and OEM Sales and Marketing in each of the Poles for Companies that are multinational to implement the items above for maximizing our business with each OEM;
  • Work with Masimo’s Pole Presidents, Executive Team, and Legal resources as needed to negotiate new agreements for Rainbow and other new technologies as well as with new OEM opportunities assigned;
  • Ensure ongoing and effective communication between Masimo’s Engineering, Marketing, Sales, Operations, Regulatory, Quality and Senior Management in regards to your OEM’s;
  • Be an expert on Masimo technology from a technical and clinical perspective, including the ability to effectively position and present its characteristics and benefits to OEM Sales and Marketing personnel;
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of competitors’ products and strategy and how it relates to Masimo’s products and strategy; Apply that knowledge in facilitating the training of Masimo sales and marketing teams and, where appropriate, assist in Masimo team sales efforts where expertise in the OEM product line will benefit the sales process;
  • Must be accustomed to a moderate travel schedule;
  • Perform special projects as requested;

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum & Preferred Qualifications and Experience:

  • Ten or more years of sales, marketing, or field engineering experience with account management experience and knowledge of the medical device market, with five or more years at the Senior Director or VP level.
  • Experience working in both large structured and small entrepreneurial organizations; Must be capable of working effectively in both environments and possess the flexibility in reacting to new situations and adaptability for working in a new environment;
  • Must have a proven presence which commands the respect and trust of customers, physicians, distributors, sales reps and employees at all levels in the organization;
  • Must be a proven manager with experience in driving growth;
  • Comfortable with the FDA and international regulatory processes;
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and the ability to interface effectively with all departments;
  • Must be a self-starter; a "hands-on" individual who enjoys challenge and is dedicated to getting the job done with minimal support and direction;
  • Must be able to operate at all levels of an organization, from C level to lower level managers as required;
  • Must be ethical and follow Masimo’s guiding principles;
  • Must live in the eastern US, and preferably, the northeast.

Preferred Qualifications

  • P&L management experience;

Education

Bachelor’s degree, preferably in life sciences or engineering is required. MBA is preferred.

Compensation

The anticipated salary range for this position is $170,000 - $210,000. Actual placement within the range is dependent on multiple factors, including but not limited to skills, education, and experience.
