Altus Engineering, partnering with Joint Research and Development (JRAD), is looking for a Systems Engineer to support the Joint Project Manager for CBRN Sensors (JPM CBRN S).

Roles/Responsibilities:

  • Provide systems engineering analysis and technical expertise to the Product Manager for the Nuclear, Biological, Chemical Reconnaissance Vehicle Sensor Suite Upgrade (NBCRV SSU) program, the functional support staff, and integrated product teams (IPTs) to accomplish product goals
  • Conduct systems engineering process analysis and provide input to leadership by identifying and defining required tests; monitoring test coverage; evaluating overall quality experienced; specifying required test data; evaluating the outcome of testing conducted in each test cycle; and providing feedback and input to functional IPTs, Interim Progress Reviews (IPRs), milestone decisions, and required program updates
  • Provide program and strategic planning, including the development of system requirements, sustainment strategies, and project plans
  • Provide risk and engineering analysis for the NBCRV SSU program and applicable sub-systems
  • Lead the Systems Engineering Working IPT. Additionally, coordinate (e.g., prepare agendas, presentations, etc.) and execute (e.g., conduct roll-call, develop meeting minutes, etc.) IPT meetings
  • Develop and provide comments on high-level documents (e.g., requirements documents, Test and Evaluation Master Plans [TEMP], Systems Engineering Plans [SEP], Concepts of Operation [CONOP], Standard Operating Procedures [SOP], test plans, Memorandums of Agreement/Understanding [MOA/MOU], Engineering Change Proposals [ECP], Configuration Management Plans [CMP], etc)
  • Translate program requirements into language for a Physical Specification (PSpec), Statement of Work (SOW), and associated Contract Data Requirements List (CDRL) items for material solution solicitation and update them as necessary
  • Coordinate with Government personnel to determine what funding is available to evaluate and prioritize user needs
  • Prepare briefings for command-level reviews and respond to systems engineering inquiries and taskers

Education & Skills:

  • Possess a bachelor’s degree in engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics, Engineering Management, or a related discipline, as well as eight (8) years of general experience and five (5) years of relevant experience
  • OR: The contractor shall possess an Associate degree or professional certificate in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics, Engineering Management, or a related discipline, as well as ten (10) years of general experience and seven (7) years of relevant experience
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience in chemical, biological radiological, and nuclear defense (CBRND) preferred
  • Experience in the defense acquisition process for a program office preferred
