General Statement Of Duties

The Director of Operations is responsible for managing its resources, developing and implementing an operational plan that ensures that procedures are carried out properly. Additionally, the Director of Operations regularly evaluates organizational efficiency and makes necessary changes to maximize staff productivity. A Director of Operations assesses the needs of the company and finds ways to contribute to the big picture by ensuring daily operations run smoothly and as efficiently as possible. S/he will uphold the mission, philosophy, and goals of the organization while maintaining confidentiality of personnel and patient/client data and information in the performance of assigned duties.

Major Duties And Responsibilities

  • Oversees life safety, admissions, and information technology departments and ensures each is reaching goals set by departmental and company leadership. Produces monthly reports to demonstrate goal reaching status or areas of improvement.
  • Establishes and implements policy and procedures surrounding the following:
  • Life safety and accessibility that is designed to provide a physical environment free of hazards (e.g., Maintains ADA requirements, fire life safety, hazardous material management, and supports senior leadership in managing situations involving man made or natural disaster that may threaten the safety and/or security of the facility, staff, visitors, or its inhabitants).
  • Sound admission practices which allow for streamlined processes with minimal stop gaps to appropriately admit prospective patients
  • Structured information technology policy which promotes a secured network with efficient procedures for business function and service delivery across the organization.
  • Communicates and explains new directives, policies, or procedures to supervisors; for major changes, meets with entire operations staff to explain changes, answer questions and maintain morale.
  • Works in part of committee to design and later execute a preventive maintenance program to improve the performance, safety and longevity of the plant operations and clinical equipment used at all Moody Neuro facilities.
  • Schedules and oversees/monitors the work of external contractors to ensure terms of agreement are met and work is completed satisfactorily.
  • Supervises and, when necessary, performs admissions activities and efforts on a daily basis to ensure efficient service and documentation are produced for all prospective patients.
  • Develops and maintains procedures relative to all city, state, licensure, accreditation, and other regulatory compliance requirements with a minimum of disruption to facilities.
  • Consistently plans, develops, and implements new methods and procedures designed to improve operations, minimize operating costs.
  • Participates in the development and administration of the department budget.
  • Discharge duties in accordance with Moody Neuro organizational policy, CARF and other accrediting bodies.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • MANAGEMENT DUTIES:
  • Financial Acumen - effectively manage expenses by operating within established budget.
  • Human Resource Management- evaluating subordinates' performance; strengths and development needs; provide timely constructive feedback and takes appropriate and timely action with marginal or unsatisfactory performers.
  • Human Resource Management- Consistently and fairly enforce policies and procedures of Department and Moody Neuro.
  • Leadership - effectively accomplishes work assignments through proper delegation, establishing challenging goals and promoting innovation and team effort.
  • Change Leadership- effectively initiates change, adapts to necessary changes from old methods when they are no longer practical, and identifying new methods that promote Moody Neuro performance improvement.

Minimum Qualifications

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of health facility operations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize time efficiently across multiple department needs.
  • Ability to perform job tasks within the organization's procedural structure.
  • Proven ability to plan and manage operational process for maximum efficiency and productivity.
  • Strong working knowledge of industry regulations and legislative guidelines.
  • Proven ability to develop innovative solutions for increased productivity.
  • Superior negotiation skills in both internal and external settings.
  • Masterful organizational, communication, and leadership skills, demonstrated by previous professional success.
  • Strong working knowledge of data analysis and performance metrics using business management software (e.g., Salesforce, CRM, Paycom, Litmos, Microsoft PowerApps).

Education

  • Bachelors degree in healthcare, business administration or related field
  • Masters degree in business or healthcare administration preferred

Experience

  • 5+ years senior leadership role in the appropriate field, managing large scale projects with multiple moving parts
  • Leadership over multiple support departments
  • Developing, implementing and maintaining policy and standard operating procedures.

    • Acuity, near - clarity of vision at 20 inches or less.
    • Depth perception - three-dimensional vision. The ability to judge distance and space relationships so as to see objects where and as they actually are they actually are.
    • Field of vision - the area that can be seen up and down or to the right or left while the eyes are fixed on a given point.
    • Accommodation - adjustment of the lens of the eye to bring an object into sharp focus. This item is especially important when doing near-point work at varying distances from the eye.
    • Color vision - the ability to identify and distinguish colors.
