As the Vice President, Human Resources Operations & Payroll you will lead and inspire a high-performing HR Operations & Payroll team and ensure operational excellence in both teams. From onboarding to payroll, we are focused on motivating and enabling high-performing teams to deliver business results. You will strategically partner with leaders within the HR Leadership Team and Finance teams to optimize processes, drive operational performance, and enhance the overall employee experience. The Human Resources Operations & Payroll leader is a vital member of our Leadership Team and will report to the SVP, Human Resources.

Responsibilities:

HR Operations:

  • Lead a team who oversees key operational processes and workflows across the employee lifecycle, including onboarding/offboarding, employee changes/transfers, data management, and compliance.
  • Create and drive strategic roadmap for process excellence, optimization and, simplification.
  • Lead a continuous improvement strategy across the function utilizing data and stakeholder feedback.
  • Lead people analytics strategy and drive development of roadmap for leveraging people analytics to drive business outcomes.
  • Build strong partnerships particularly with the HR Business Partner (HRBP), Talent Acquisition, and IT teams as well as our third-party vendors to ensure our processes and systems are running seamlessly and that the HR Operations team is providing actionable and timely insights to partners.
  • Provide leadership support for the implementation of new technology and business process optimization.

Payroll:

  • Lead and manage high-volume, multi-state payroll operations.
  • Lead and manage a team of payroll professionals to deliver high-quality services and meet established goals and objectives.
  • Develop and implement global payroll operations strategies and initiatives to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and compliance of our payroll processes.
  • Drive continuous improvements in payroll processes, systems, and procedures to enhance operational excellence.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement best practices and standardization of payroll processes.
  • Monitor and analyze payroll data to identify trends and areas for improvement, and provide recommendations to senior management.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with external payroll vendors and partners.
  • Lead and manage the annual payroll budget and forecasting process.
  • Conduct regular audits and reviews of payroll processes to identify and resolve any discrepancies or errors.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and changes in payroll regulations to ensure RWECE’s payroll processes are up-to-date and in compliance with all local, state, and federal payroll laws and regulations across all locations where RWECE operates.
  • Train and develop team members to enhance their skills and knowledge of payroll operations.
  • Represent the Payroll team in cross-functional meetings and present updates and progress reports to senior management.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required or equivalent work experience in the areas of HR Operations and Payroll.
  • Current human resources and/or compensation credentials or certification, such as PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP, or Certified payroll Professional (CPP) preferred.
  • Proven experience in leading high-volume multi-state payroll teams.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and payroll project management and implementation skills.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll regulations and compliance including payroll and tax compliance
  • Exceptional leadership and organizational skills
  • High attention to detail
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • SHRM, PHR, or Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation is desired
