TITLE: SENIOR MANAGER, PROCUREMENT
FLSA STATUS: EXEMPT
REPORTS TO: DIRECTOR OF PROCUREMENT AND SCM
SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Director of Procurement and Supply Chain Management (SCM), the Senior Manager, Procurement will be responsible for leading our procurement activities for TDK Headway ensuring the timely and cost-effective purchase of high-quality goods and services to support the company’s needs. The role requires excellent strategic and analytical thinking, negotiation skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to achieve the best outcomes for the Company. This position is located in Milpitas, California.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Responsible for all activities related to the purchasing of direct and indirect materials, equipment, software, and services
- Manage and mentor a Procurement team to ensure sourcing and procurement activities effectively and efficiently support business needs
- Responsible for developing, implementing, and communicating procurement policies and procedures across the organization; including senior leadership
- Identify, evaluate, and manage relationships with key suppliers; negotiate contracts and ensure performance standards are met. Continuously assess supplier performance, risks, and areas for improvement
- Review and approve purchase orders, negotiates terms, conditions, and pricing, and ensure on-time delivery of goods and services
- Drive cost reduction initiatives while maintaining high-quality standard; analyze market trends and supplier performance to address current and future business needs
- Develop and implement plans to ensure year-over-year improved Purchase Price Variance (PPV)
- Track and report on procurement metrics such as on-time delivery, spend, savings, PO processing cycle-time, etc.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, production, and finance, to understand and support business needs and align procurement activities accordingly
- Lead and support continuous improvement activities across the department
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date procurement records and documentation
- Adheres to all safety policies and procedures as required
- Performs other duties of a similar nature or level*
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Economics, Engineering, or Manufacturing Technology and/or equivalent relevant experience. Master’s degree or relevant professional certifications (e.g., CPSM, CSCP) is a preferred
- Seven years of experience in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain management in a high-volume manufacturing environment in a mid to large-sized company
- Four years of experience in a management role
- Proven track record of successful contract negotiations and supplier management
- Strong understanding of procurement processes, market dynamics, and industry best practices. Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Analytical mindset with the ability to analyze data and make informed decisions
- Experience using an ERP system such as SAP
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Applications
Knowledge, Skill, and Abilities:
- Knowledge and ability manage the purchasing function, including reviewing and approving purchase orders, reviewing contract terms/conditions, and ensuring price and delivery expectations are met
- Knowledge of management or supervisory principles, practices, and techniques
- Knowledge and ability to use and ERP system such as SAP
- Knowledge and ability to use Microsoft Office applications to create spreadsheets, Word documents, and presentations
- Able to communicate effectively and collaboratively with all levels of employees and management both verbally and in writing
- Able to analyze data from a variety of sources, create reports, and present findings
- Able to successfully function in a highly matrixed organization
- Able to create, update, and communicate purchasing policies and procedures across the Company
- Demonstrated ability to negotiate positive outcomes
- Demonstrated analytical and critical thinking skills
- Demonstrated organizational and time management skills

The annual base salary for this full-time position is between $145,407.00 and $213,834.00 + bonus target + benefits. Within the range the individual pay may differ depending on additional factors including job responsibilities, job related knowledge, skills, abilities, education, and experience. The annual base pay range shown is subject to change and may be modified periodically.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
The Senior Manager, Procurement works primarily in an office environment from Monday to Friday. The schedule may be altered from time-to-time to meet business or operational needs; may travel from building-to-building as needed. Stands, sits, and walks; performs various fine grasping movements, bends, and twists; operates a computer and enters information using a keyboard, operates a telephone, and other office equipment. May occasionally push, pull, or lift up to 30 or more pounds.
