We are looking for an analytical, meticulous, and energized Finance Manager to join our team and oversee finance and accounting functions.

THE DAY-TO-DAY

  • Develop and maintain financial models to support business planning, forecasting, and budgeting.
  • Analyze financial performance against key business metrics and document pertinent financial highlights.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Lead the annual budgeting process, working closely with department heads to ensure alignment with strategic goals.
  • Monitor and update financial forecasts regularly, providing actionable insights to senior management.
  • Identify and analyze variances between actual results and budgeted/forecasted figures.
  • Oversee all accounting operations, including A/P, A/R, GL, and payroll.
  • Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in compliance with GAAP or IFRS.
  • Manage the month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Monitor and manage cash flow, ensuring the company has adequate liquidity for operations.
  • Develop strategies to optimize working capital and manage financial risks.
  • Maintain relationships with banks and financial institutions.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local financial regulations.
  • Coordinate with external auditors and prepare for annual audits.
  • Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets.
  • Support strategic planning initiatives, including market analysis, financial due diligence, and M&A activities.
  • Provide financial insights and recommendations to support business growth and operational efficiency.

WHAT MAKES YOU QUALIFIED

  • 4-8 years of experience working in finance or accounting roles, preferably within a startup or tech environment
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, economics, or a related field.
  • Bonus if MBA or CPA.
  • Experience establishing finance and accounting team processes at a Series A or later stage startup with experience managing a small team of people in finance and accounting.
  • Proficiency in financial software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) and advanced Excel skills.
  • Experience in data modeling/analysis with tools like Looker and PowerBI.
  • Strong understanding of financial principles, including GAAP or IFRS.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping.

  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions under tight deadlines.
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, dynamic startup environment and contribute to a positive and collaborative culture.

  • Ability to drive forward work independently while communicating and working across functions.

The base salary for this position ranges from $70,000 to $130,000. Individual compensation varies based on job-related factors, including business needs, experience, level of responsibility and qualifications.
