Job Summary:

The Chief of Staff - Warehouse Operations is a key leadership role responsible for optimizing the day-to-day operations of our warehouse. This position acts as a strategic partner to the CEO/General Manager, ensuring that all warehouse activities are aligned with the company’s overall objectives. The Chief of Staff will oversee the efficient management of resources, lead cross-functional teams, and drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, safety, and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

• Strategic Planning and Execution:Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and implement strategies that align with the company’s goals.
• Lead initiatives to streamline warehouse operations, reduce costs, and improve service delivery.
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and drive continuous improvement efforts.
• Operational Management:Oversee daily warehouse operations, including inventory management, order fulfillment, shipping, receiving, and quality control.
• Ensure that the warehouse meets safety standards and complies with all relevant regulations.
• Manage resource allocation, including staffing, equipment, and space utilization.
• Team Leadership:Provide leadership and direction to warehouse managers and supervisors.
• Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
• Conduct regular performance reviews and provide coaching and development opportunities for staff.
• Cross-functional Collaboration:Act as a liaison between the warehouse and other departments such as Procurement, Sales, and Customer Service.
• Coordinate with IT to ensure that warehouse management systems (WMS) are optimized for operational efficiency.
• Work closely with HR to manage recruitment, training, and employee relations within the warehouse.
• Project Management:Lead special projects aimed at improving warehouse operations, such as technology upgrades or facility expansions.
• Track project progress, manage timelines, and ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field. An MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
• Experience:Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in warehouse or logistics management, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role.
• Proven track record of managing large teams and complex operations.
• Skills and Competencies:Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Proficiency in warehouse management systems (WMS) and other relevant software.
• Strong financial acumen and experience with budget management.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
• Certifications: APICS Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) or Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) is preferred.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to work in a warehouse environment, including standing for extended periods, lifting heavy objects, and operating warehouse equipment.

Work Environment:

• Fast-paced, high-volume warehouse environment with exposure to varying temperatures, noise levels, and equipment.
