Job Description

As an Electrical Engineer, you will:

• Create designs specific to low and medium voltage electrical switchgear assemblies/systems, replacement breakers, and related equipment.
• Collaborate with key stakeholders (mechanical engineers, production, purchasing, vendors, etc.) to develop complete drawings, submittals, and BOM packages that meet customer, manufacturing, regulatory, and project requirements.
• Work with the QA and Testing group to develop and review testing plans.
• Follow and develop standard design processes and documentation to improve quality and efficiency in engineering design.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote a culture of collaboration.
• Make changes and corrections in electrical design throughout the product's lifecycle.
• Support other departments such as project management, production, and sales.
• Maintain detailed and organized documentation, and work closely with the production team to resolve issues quickly.
  
  

Skills and Qualifications:

Minimal Required Skills

• 3-5 years of design experience in switchgear control circuit electrical design or related fields.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and AutoCAD Electrical.
• A 4-year bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and an EIT (Engineering in Training) certificate.
• Ability to work on assignments with minimal guidance and to navigate challenging situations and tasks by collaborating with key stakeholders and peers.
• Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to work with teams of various technical backgrounds.
  
  

Preferred Skills:

• 8+ years of design experience in switchgear control circuit electrical design or related fields.
• Experience in the design of electrical switchgear in compliance with UL891 and UL1558 standards.
• Experience with REVIT and Inventor software.
• Knowledge and experience in generator and automation controls, specifically PLC/HMI systems, including Rockwell/Siemens and Woodward.
• A PE license in power systems and controls is preferred or demonstrated ability to acquire one.
  
  

Compensation:

This is a full-time, exempt position. The compensation package will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
