Job Summary

Compliance business partner for the US and Canada region, reporting directly to the Compliance Officer for the Americas region and overseeing a team in the US responsible for implementing Zimmer Biomet’s corporate compliance program, including advising on policies and procedures, and conducting training.

How You'll Create Impact

  • Provide leadership and strategic direction in the development and implementation of the compliance program, working cross-functionally and directly with the business to provide daily compliance advice.
  • Analyze and evaluate business proposals and programs to provide consistent and clear guidance related to the company’s policies and applicable healthcare laws and regulations.
  • Draft policies, procedures, and work instructions as necessary to implement the company’s compliance program.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert regarding applicable US healthcare compliance laws, regulations, and industry standards and communicate the same to the appropriate business partners.
  • Ensure consistency and appropriate enforcement in the application of ZB compliance policies and procedures.
  • Provide daily compliance guidance and advice to business partners, working with peer compliance officers as necessary.
  • Manage team of compliance professionals handling US and global review of HCP related arrangements.
  • Assess training needs, develop training programs, and evaluate programs’ effectiveness to meet compliance requirements.
  • Support monitoring programs and compliance investigations as necessary.
  • Work collaboratively with the business to assess risk and to remediate compliance policy violations.
  • Implement corrective and preventative action as necessary.

What Makes You Stand Out

  • Strong knowledge and understanding of healthcare laws and regulations, including the False Claims Act, Anti-Kickback Statute, the Sunshine Act and relevant state laws
  • Outstanding communication skills (written and verbal), strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and strong interpersonal skills
  • Effective leadership and management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to participate in and/or lead cross-functional teams
  • Communication and presence at varied levels – including leading a strong strategic approach and detail-oriented attention to team projects
  • Ability to tailor communications to all audiences, including various levels of management and the sales force
  • High degree of integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and ability to learn other software packages as required.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree and J.D. required
  • A minimum of 10+ years of relevant experience, including 7+ years of US healthcare compliance experience; outside counsel support of MedTech clients and in-house experience preferred

Travel Expectations

  • Approximately 10%

Expected Compensation Range: $185k-$232k + Bonus/LTI
