PAM Transport is seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Vice President of Sales to lead our sales team and drive business growth at our Northwest Arkansas Headquarters. This role is critical in shaping and executing our sales strategy, expanding our customer base, and increasing profitability. The VP of Sales will be accountable for leading the company's business development functions, including overseeing the sales team, strategizing to meet sales targets, and effectively communicating the company's vision.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the sales team to achieve company sales objectives.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy that aligns with the company’s goals.
  • Directly engage with customers and accompany sales representatives on customer visits.
  • Identify and secure new business opportunities while maintaining and expanding relationships with current clients.
  • Oversee the management and development of profitable new business, additional business, and existing accounts.
  • Provide coaching, training, and mentoring to the sales team to ensure consistent achievement of sales goals.
  • Evaluate current business for increased profitability, focusing on top and bottom-line revenue growth.
  • Ensure pricing and margin strategies support new business opportunities.
  • Manage sales performance metrics and territory management reporting processes.
  • Lead contract negotiations and maintain strong relationships with C-level executives.


Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in leading and managing a sales team, particularly in the logistics or trucking industry.
  • Extensive experience in selling U.S. Over-the-Road (OTR) trucking services, with additional experience in the Mexico market being a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and secure new customers, with a focus on diversifying the customer base.
  • Strong background in sales performance metric development and annual sales plan creation.
  • Expertise in contract negotiation, pricing, and margin strategies.
  • Experience in interacting with C-level executives and building lasting business relationships.
  • Track record of growing both asset and non-asset revenues within the logistics or transportation industry.
  • Experience with logistics/brokerage sales, irregular route sales, dedicated sales, and big-box consumer products goods is highly desirable.
  • A proven team builder who can motivate and develop a high-performing sales team.
